Webb's a very good prospect, but if he's not going to go to MSU or out of conference, I guess the best option is out of MSU's division. With the divisional alignments changing soon, there's a good chance that MSU and tOSU don't meet for quite awhile.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Ohio State has academics? Really? Our academics are a helluva lot better than there's. It's more because he probably knows he won't have to worry about academics.
Some real gems over on Mgoblog:
"This wouldn't have happened if Harbaugh was coach"
Or MSU going into same one with UM/OSU
Doesn't appear that Dawson cares about the 6th OL if you read his twitter. Looks like the whole day he was bashing Ohio State and cheering for scUM. Doesn't appear to be anything on there that shows he's pissed with that. Who knows though. Another decommit?
I guess they think its still the big 2
"History has shown that we take theirs and they take ours. The future will be no different. Get a grip people."
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
OSU is a pretty awesome school. I believe their Science programs are top notch.
I think you have your own opinion of Ohio State academics that are not really supported with any facts. Ohio State does have good academics, and even though you can find fault with any rankings, Ohio State is ahead of MSU in USNWR rankings (OSU is 56 and MSU is 72). Ohio State also has a larger endowment and more research dollars.
In the end, many of the B10 schools are very similar. Most are top 30 public schools (All of them are probably top 40 or 50) with Northwestern being the exception since they are an elite, private school.

Hoke and staff telling a recruit what they want to hear in order to secure a commitment as soon as possible? No way..
No kidding. $$$$$$$$
Thank you, Denicos.
Dead heat at best.
Academics? And scUM has the market cornered on so called "winning tradition" (abeit, without actually winning). I'm guessing unmarked envelops were the real factor here
Now with a PhD in Applied Llama Physics...
The troll is strong with this one.
If you eliminate the games where everyone who saw them is now dead, then Ohio State kicks Michigan's ass in tradition.
How am I a troll? I'm saying that the academics at MSU is stronger than OSU's. I'm not talking about scUM's. Would have loved to have gotten a shot at this kid here.
I just find it funny that a football player is citing academics given the past comments by OSU football players. Wasn't there someone last year who said that he didn't have to go to class?

They are actually melting down pretty hard on this one
They also seem convinced he'll eventually flip to Hoke
As the saying goes, a verbal commitment just tells you who the competition is especially with more than a year until signing day. More than enough time to try to flip him. And would be much sweeter if we get him that way.

You really believe that crap about academics?
With the exception of Northwestern the other 11 schools in the Big 10 (talk about academics after typing that eh?) will let in any football player who has a 17 ACT and transcripts that are cleared to play by the NCAA minimum admissions. The vast majority of HS players good enough to garner a scholarship from a Big Ten school are thinking NFL when they sign that LOI.
Yes you're right. You got me. I'm a troll who hates scUM, is glad they lost today and am glad they missed out on Webb. I'm also a troll who wishes that Webb would have committed to MSU instead to make us better. Makes a whole lot of sense to me.
Haha I would love to know how many athletes that site academics honestly mean it and take advantage of the academics. I feel sometimes they say it just as another deciding factor to make it sound like a smart well thought out decision.
How many of the big recruits who site it actually graduate vs go to NFL?
Oh and about those academics. This is how much emphasis the OSU football program places on academics.
Damon Webb is a VERY good football player. Besides Drake Harris I would want him over any of the kids in Michigan the last couple years.
I am not a doctor
Their non athletic academics are pretty good. Their athletic academics rival SCum's for pathetic at times. Just ask Andy Katzenmoyer's class schedule.
