Best News I've read on tRCMB in a long time.
Nίκη για MSU
This shows you the kind of man Dantonio is, even if someone on his staff isn't working out, he will make the effort to land him another job.
Now with a PhD in Applied Llama Physics...
Aside from the joy of Roushar leaving...
When you're selling the program to potential coaches, it's nice to be able to say "the last two OCs ended up a head
Coach and in the NFL"
This is the new trend. I guarantee Michigan will.
Well mayonaise, as usual, you are a fountain of misinformation. MSU no longer uses strictly geography for assigning main recruiters. Previously, MSU had definite assigned recruiting territories but that is no longer the case. Now it's about building relationships based on position and personality. For Example :
2012 - Harlon Barnett main recruiter for :
FL, Ezra Robinson
2013 - Harlon Barnett main recruiter for :
MI, Gerald Holmes
FL, Devyn Salmon
2013 - Pat Narduzzi main recruiter for :
FL, Justin Williams
IL, Demetrius Cooper
...the head coach known best for his loyalty will consider in-house candidates first, just as he did when he promoted Roushar to the offensive coordinator post two seasons ago.
Someone with gigantic balls?
Thank you Dan.
hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.
You totally misinterpreted that. Once he arrived on campus, as a DE, he would have had very little day to day activity with the OC.
I see this as a fork in the road, actually. Dantonio has the opportunity to hire from within and seemingly commit to the bland, "try and pound it out" offense that has sometimes worked, or to go in a bold new direction by embracing talents like Damion Terry and spreading the field open a little more. I think the latter implies someone coming in from outside the program.
Will be interesting to see where this goes.
Any change is good when you had the worst imaginable.
We should consider spreading the field, using 4 wideouts, get rid of that outdated FB position... Wait- this sounds strangely familiar.
Roushar has left....many are happy.....be careful what you wish for....you say it can't get worse? how quickly you forget the past....
Thats just plain wrong. MSU does use geographic recruiting territories. And Roushar was the main recruiter for Cooper. Each coach has an area of Michigan as well as other areas around the country. Harlon Barnett has the west coast of Florida, Narduzzi has the east coast up north in florida and Mark Staten has South Florida. Narduzzi also has NJ and part of Ohio. Barnett also has Cincinnati and the Flint/Saginaw area. So initially it is geographically based, but throughout the process, multiple coaches will touch base with the recruits based on position and such but it always falls back on the geographical area to be the "recruiting coach" You like to act like you're "in the know", but you're not.
see, that's the thing...CBD is "in the know."
Go Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Pioneers.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand
so he says.
Congrats to him!
Dominating Press Conferences Since 2007
Good point. Great news.
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
You contributed anything useful to the board like he has? You ever on tDuff giving insights, thoughts, and analysis on football recruiting like he does?
He seemed to have a pretty good grasp of the Madaris recruitment.
Last year's offensive ineptitude was the worst in my lifetime, and a complete embarrassment to the program and the university. Lop off the man in charge of the abomination and start rebuilding. It may be a difficult rebuilding job, but is that really any worse than continuing to try to shore up a completely rotten edifice?
No I haven't because I value my job so I don't speak publicly of what I hear in my job. I don't owe it to anyone let alone this board, but I can come on here and call out a fraud when I see one. If he was truly "in the know" then I would know who he is.
