....odd. I take it this means he was figuring out who's doing what, and was interviewing current staff members.
"MLive has learned from a source in the athletic department that Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio was still conducting interviews related to the offensive coordinator hire on Thursday."
Once the Michigan State hiring protocol is complete, the Spartans will issue a release clarifying the hire and the new position-coaching duties Dantonio has assigned to his offensive staff.

@feldman33 I can't recall a situation quite like this.

I am liking the hire more now. I think he will Beef up the O-line and give MSU the Run game it needs to control clock and support the vaunted Defense.
Except OSU fans think Bollman was a bad o-line coach.
Maybe we are going to have an Offensive Commitee instead of a Coordinator. We would need 3 so someone could act as a tie breaker when voting on plays to run

Tie breaker is an Internet vote on tRCMB
Bollman will be coaching the TEs here actually, and he coached TEs in the NFL as well.
It is funny, I'm trying to remember when, under Tressel, tosu had what was considered to be a "bad" OL, or even just average. Take out the uf bowl game, and I can't remember too much apart from them always having all-b10 OL. And even when they had "average" backs like Boom Herren, they always had a solid run game. They also put what, 11 OL in league under him, and the all-pro from tosu claims he's the best OL coach he's ever had.
And that said, rumor is he'll be coaching TEs.
Hard to do without a poll function.

MSU's offensive line luck has to change soon right? I mean it can't get much worse.
"Arnett again? Are you guys sure about this?"- Maxwell
Hope so. It's really injuries that have hampered development. When the line has been healthy later in the season in both 2011 and 2012 and developed some continuity, they've been pretty decent.
CBD said on the other site that Warner will be calling plays as co-offensive coordinator, along with Bollman (who will be involved with game planning and TE's coach).
It sounds like Coach D just grabbed Bollman as soon as he could (as it would have been tougher for him to back out of his Purdue deal with more time passed and it's better to have done this before he got all settled in) and is kind of "figuring out" how this is all going to work out subsequently..
There is romance in all of us
I'm liking the sounds of this. It's somewhat "out of the box" perhaps.
"If they want to mock us, I'm telling them it's not over. It will never be over here. It's just starting." - Mark Dantonio, 2007
I'll reserve judgement until I hear from all of the OSU fans about whether this is a good idea or not...
I wonder how much of their critique is revisionist history?
I honestly don't know, nor do I really care.
WHERE IS PALASKY???
So the deal is, Bollman is here technically on an interview. Coach D has to go through the proper hiring process so he can't be announced till the "interview" is over. But its a done deal. I expect a formal announcement sometime in the next day or two.
will we be running any spread option reads and pistol formations next year?
Do we have any TE's on teh team?
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
we have to interview a couple brothas before we can make the hire.
If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day.
we are going to get to make play calls from our X-Box. Stand in yer living room with the controller in one hand, yer wang in the other. When it is your turn to call a play, a green light flashes on your screen. You have 10 seconds to call a play or it defaults to "35 Counter Trap XY Banana"
let's be real, you aren't "stuck in rednecksville", you belong there
We've got depth. We've got numbers.
ouch. Double whammy there:
1) "all of the above" is still an option
2) I may actually agree with you
