Okay it's back to being funny..don't care if these have already been posted.
If you think it's impressive that AJ McCarron's girlfriend was Miss Alabama 2012, Manti Te'o's girlfriend was Miss Narnia 2009, 2010 & 2011.
These Te'o jokes are all very funny but let's all try and remember that a person who never existed is dead.
"If you're worried about Wolverine fans, just move to Pasadena. You'll never have to deal with 'em."
Was there ever any conclusion to the NFL player who claimed to know her? Reagan Maui'a?
After doing a little digging myself he was one of 4 people she follows on twitter, along with Ray Maualuga, Troy Polamalu, and Te'o. I'd like to hear a little bit more of what he has to say.
Some sort of announcement at 12 pm PST. I have to imagine they're going to indict Te'o.
My guess to this, and it's only a guess, is that the family was supposed to meet her. So instead of having to explain how he broke up with a girlfriend he was madly in love with or how she broke up with him (leaving a loose end someone could try and contact about why she broke up with him) they just killed her off. Not saying this is true, but it does put an abrupt halt to any questions the family might have about a supposed break up. Plus he already had been making up a girlfriend for a while, so it's not like he was making the best choices up to that point already.
I think the gay angle becomes more possible if Manti shows he was actually on the phone with someone for countless hours everyday. I have a hard time believing some random girl who happened to know Ronaih would be willing to put in that much time pranking someone she either didn't know or didn't know very well just for giggles. In all the catfish tales there is always some sort of motivation, often revenge or knowledge the person would not date them if they found out their true identity. Ronaih might have some sort of revenge factor we don't know, but there would also need to be some girl involved here too.
The key is finding the girl in all of this. We already know a guy who knew him was involved, but no female has surfaced. If she does and we find out her motivation, then great. Yet if no girl with any real motivation surfaces I am more inclined to believe the gay angle a bit more (once again, assuming Manti actually shows all his contacts were in fact true and not a fabrication).
These Polynesian guys stick together. I wouldn't doubt it that they're lying for Teo.
You said the key in all this is finding the girl. Dude this story is so effed up that it's completely possible that there isn't even a girl. Lies, lies, lies. Nobody knows what to believe.
Well yeah, that is my point. He supposedly talked to some girl. Obviously not Lennay, but someone in on the joke. If she doesn't exist either and there are no phone records to prove the contact, then Teo was in on it. If she doesn't exist and there are phone record showing long phone calls, then my bet is those were phone calls to his boyfriend Roniah. If she does exist and there appears to be some sort of motivation, then maybe Teo's story is true (assuming he admits to lying to his family, friends, and the media about actually meeting her). That is why I think this mystery female is the key.
It never ends with this god damn story.
Yeah, but didn't Manti tweet at her a really long time ago? Or can you use the same name after one is deactivated?
Also agreed to the point that a fake person dieing is a bigger story to people than an actual student dieing under a coach's orders is sad and pathetic.
As stated in the article, once a name is deactivated it can be used again. Someone started a new account with the same name.
And now there's this...
Te'o told the Notre Dame interviewer the last letter came before the Stanford game on Oct. 13 (interview more than four weeks after that game). Te'o then told Thamel he received another letter from her before the Wake Forest game on Nov. 17.
Who remembers those choose your own adventure books? This whole saga is tailor made for it.
Turn to page 18 if you want Manti to be a fucking homo
Turn to page 25 if you want Manti to be a fucking gullible retard
re read and now I get it, gotcha. This story is way too fucking fishy for Manti to be the victim. No way.
Hahahahahaha yes +1.
I find it hard to believe he is that stupid, but I guess he could be.
This obviously has been brought up but the only thing that explains all this is if he was gay and his family and some within ND knew. That would explain the Dad telling stories about her flying to Hawaii and covering all this to protect his son. Sucks if the kid had to be outed like this and says something about society and sports if it takes all this to hide sexuality.
Read through most of the thread...sorry if this thought already came up. Just thinking...
If this exact same thing would have happened to an MSU linebacker/player, how long would it take for tRCMB to discover the girl didn't exist? My guess would be WAY before the fake death. Even if it was before all of the ESPN / SI interviews. The detectives on this board would've had things wrapped up a year ago. The Blue Wall would've been screaming for Cousins arrest shortly after.
I mean, how hard is it for someone to figure out that a "girlfriend" isn't enrolled at Stanford, or even living in Palo Alto? Did he ever want to send her flowers or a birthday / xmas present? Or maybe just be curious to get more info on the girlfriend of 3 years you've never actually met? Or maybe you might look up a family member to send a card or gift to when she was supposedly sick? I heard something about an article saying he received letters from her. Did "she" have a return address? Did he send her letters? Seems pretty easy to figure out if he was in fact Catfished, and who it was coming from.
Oh, and thanks to this story I now know what the show "Catfish" on MTV is about. Always saw it scrolling through the listings.
A little twitter chatter before the story broke was uncovered by this guy
Specifically pay attention to:
Too lazy to scour the 40 other pages of this but I saw this on Twitter:
Brian Hamilton @ChiTribHamilton
Ex-Stanford player RT @MMasifilo: Got to believe Te'o was the victim here. He would always ask us if we knew his girl after we'd play them
Masifilo is later asked at a school like Stanford (15K+ Student, 6.8K Undergrads) what are the odds that no one on the team had even heard of her. He said "very rare". It is an interesting thought. You would think that over the course of the past few years a member or two of the Stanford football team would be like okay...I'm curious, lets find this girl.

Teo was just perpetuating his own lie...this guy must be really psycho inside.
Not sure if this was brought up, but how was he not on Skype or Facetime with her?

Because she's as real as a 3 dollar bill.
