Charles Rogers part deux
"I think the world is run by C students"
They got a 1st and 3rd for Roy Williams, why wouldn't they get an equal deal for Suh? Wasn't Carson Palmer traded for a 1st, after sitting out an year?
Not every team is as foolish as the Raiders and Cowboys.
Ahh you solved it. After all, I love Alabama.
Then it is simple, trade him to the Raiders or Cowboys. DUUUUUUHHHHHH??!!
The more I see of this Eric Fisher kid, the more I think the Lions need to select him if he's on the board at #5. BEAST
Go defense in rounds 2 and 3

Bye bye Nick Harris
I would love to see the Lions do well but they won't. You could easily make a case this has been the worst NFL organization since the early 1960's. Considering how many teams their are that is saying something. They will never be relevant until the idiot owner who has owned the team for this time frame sells.
It doesn't appear that is going to happen anytime soon, so don't get to excited.
They'd better not draft a punter. They can find somebody cheap without wasting a pick.
You can make a case for worst franchise in all of sports. 1 playoff win since the 50's, and just when you think they have it together they turn in a disastrous 2012. The amount of talent it takes to compensate for apathetic ownership and idiotic coaching is unattainable.
This is laughable
The Lions have won 4 NFL championships
There are several teams in pro sports that have never won a championship of any kind
You're letting the Matt Millen years cloud your judgement
Why not? It's not like their 4th - 7th round picks actually make an impact. They traded a 4th rounder last year for some guy named Doug Hogue who doesn't even see the field
Doug Hogue was among the final cuts in preseason, you're thinking of Tahir Whitehead.
It's a low value position. There isn't that much difference between the punter with the strongest leg and the 32nd strongest leg. Last year the difference in net punting average between the 1st and 25th best punters was less than 5 yards and the difference between first and last was than 10 yards. I'd much rather take a flyer on an offensive or defensive player and signing one or two as UDFA's.

the playoff year was a fluke. lions will continue to suck until ford dies and they get an owner committed to winning.
"Put your mother in a straight-jacket you punk ass white boy." ~ Mike Tyson
no....it isn't....at all. When was the LAST time they won ANYTHING? Modern day, they are one of the worst in any sport along with the AZ Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Chicago Cubs.....total ass LOSERS.
ps...the 'matt millen years'? Is that a JOKE? Ever heard of Russ THomas...he was Ford's drinking buddy for 30 years as GM and they wre just as miserable.Gimme a break
Russ Thomas kept old Willie sober - that's why he had/kept his job
good. worst punter in the NFL.
Take Colin Klein at tight end
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
Near the bottom in all categories, dead last in avg. yards/punt (32 of 32), impossibly low (#33 out of 32 teams ) in longest punt (58 yards, 12 full yards ahead of Jason Hanson, the placekicker pressed into service when Harris was injured in the middle of a game ).

Thank you, Denicos.
Yes, Nick Harris was awful.
The Lions had two special teams players that had absolutely no business being in the NFL last year. The other, of course, was Stefon Logan. How they couldn't find players in FA, even in midseason, to replace those bums blew my mind. Catching a punt cleanly for Logan was a revelation.
OK, fine. Worst franchise in pro sports since 1950. Personally, I couldn't care less about leather helmet championships. So, since you are such a history buff, name a few pro sports teams who have had less success during that period of time.
There are a handful of teams who have never been to a Super Bowl. Houston (expansion), Jacksonville (expansion), current Cleveland Browns (expansion), and the Lions. All of the other teams have as many or more playoff wins in the SB era. A handful of teams in the NFL (Arizona, New Orleans, Cincinatti, Tampa) who were long considered to be horrible franchises have combined for 5 SB appearances and 2 wins.
Letting the Millen years cloud my judgement? Are you older than 20? This is THE worst NFL franchise in the era that anybody should give a damn about. Your post sounds like every um fan I have ever met, thumping their chest about pre WW2 accomplishments and acting like they mean something.

Don't give me that Super Bowl BS
It's not the Lions fault the Super Bowl didn't exist back when they were winning championships
Listen... This franchise sucks, period. You are the only person outside of the Ford family who doesn't share this opinion. And you are either too young to realize this franchise has sucked since 1955, or you are 75 years old, and still living in the Bobby Lane years. Either way, you are taking a ridiculous stance on this, and you should be ashamed. 1 playoff win in 58 years. 1. You can't defend that.
I never said the franchise doesn't suck
I refuted your claim that they are the worst franchise in all of sports
