@ Sanchez, he gone.
Shame about Sanchez but he's earned it.
Would love to see him on the Tigers but what are the other options for our 4th starter?
Smyly or Porcello. 4 and 5, you pick the order.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Sanchez seems to out. Looks like Tori Hunter really wants to stay out west as his agent was the one to reach out to the Dodgers. But they don't need him. I'd rather avoid the Uptons. I still think the Tigers will trade Peralta and go with a more defensive SS.
There are some awfully big paydays floating in the free agent market that just don't make sense for a team like Detroit. There are less big-name options out there, and I agree that Peralta is someone who has value on the trade market. There may be less wow factor in what the Tigers eventually do, but that doesn't mean it won't be the needed upgrades....

Tigers apparently front runners for Hunter with Dodgers and Yankees also showing interest. Personally, I hope we make this happen. A Dirks/Jackson/Hunter outfield is great both offensively and defensively assuming Dirks doesn't pull a Boesch at the plate.
Torii Hunter, a 9-time Gold Glove winner and 4-time All-Star, wants to make a decision quickly on where to sign. And the Tigers are reportedly the front-runner to add the 37-year-old to their outfield.
If the Tigers signed Hunter would he bat in the 2 hole or the 6/7 hole?
Hunter said today he has already made up his mind on which team he wants to play for. Sign Hunter, and a 5th starter like a Kevin Millwood (someone cheap). Not sold on the idea of Smyly being the 5th starter. If anything, if one of our starters goes down, who replaces him (Andy Oliver?) That's a scary though. That's why signing someone should be our next priority after Hunter
I'd go 6/7 with Infante (or, maybe a different, yet-to-be-acquired SS) at 2.

Jackson just had a career year
I don't think he's ever been a regular leadoff hitter.
Career .843 OPS against LHP is exactly what the dr ordered for this Tiger lineup. Little more speed helps as well. Hope they do it and stick him in LF and right in front of Cabrera in the lineup. With that added bat you could probably trade Peralta away for whatever you can get and afford to have a dead spot in the lineup with a defensive guy playing SS.
Hunter would bat 2nd.
That's your top 5, after that it depends on other moves. With the current roster it would probably look like this 6-9:
You can flip Dirks and Avila, but I think Peralta stays at 7 since Leyland loves the lefty/righty rotation. If they trade Peralta an get a defensive SS that doesn't hit much that guy would probably bat 9th and push infante up to 7th.
We are not the same, I am a Spartan
Jackson isn't your ideal or traditional leadoff hitter, but he's a better option than a 37 year old Torri Hunter who has like 15 or so career starts as a leadoff guy. Jackson should eventually move down in the order, but right now he is still the best option for the Tigers given the roster.
Tigers should trade Jackson for Andrus straight up
Not gonna happen, Texas would never do it.
If the Tigers get Hunter it means they are not done. He wants to come to a winner and Texas makes a lot of sense too. Although swapping him for Hamilton makes Texas a worse team. They must have said they a getting someone else too.
I wonder if jimmy switches miggy and fielder if hunter hits 2nd?
Id like to see Raburn resigned and plug him in the 3 hole behind Cabby and Prince to see if he can get going. With the pitches he will see being behind those guys, no doubt he is due for a big year
If we sign Hunter, I'd be curious on the thought of hitting him 5th. Putting a solid bat with some decent speed after Miggy and Prince could help in one of the most frustrating areas last season -- GIDP. Then Martinez could hit 6th or even 2nd.
Torii would be an ideal #2 guy.
That is where he spent the majority of his time last year and excelled: .343/.376/.478
Alright, who is this?
Smokey, is this you? You kidder you.
No way Victor bats 2nd. of all our slow runners he might well be the slowest.
Pretty sure that's Raburn...or Raburn's mom. One of the two.
Also, could be Leyland.
If he's "in the 3 hole behind Cabby and Prince", that means batting Cabby lead off and Prince 2nd. Genius, I tell you..pure genius.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
I would like to see him in the 2 spot. Order could go something like: Jackson, Hunter, Cabrera, Prince, Victor, Dirks, Infante, Peralta, Avila
Maybe put Infante at 9 so he goes ahead of Jackson and Hunter. Gives a solid line of batters who can consistently get on base for our big guys.
