Or is the plan to have roushar design a spread attack?

Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
I wouldn't let roushar design my kid's birthday party.
LOL... "Daddy, why do we keep playing pin the tail on the donkey over and over?"
We got a raspberry bran nut cake, because the kids won't be expecting it.
"Daddy...I asked Andy to pass me a piece of cake and he threw it really hard and way over my head and it hit Uncle Dan right smack in the face!"
"I love March!" - Tom Izzo
"Daddy, are we doing anything new for my birthday this year? You've had a year to prepare."
"No, I thought we'd stick with who we are. You'll be getting the same presents, re-wrapped, too."
I think it's a nod toward the evolution of dual threat QBs who can create. The position is more important than ever and MSU's offensive system is outdated.
"Why did you buy me lawn darts?"
Would this also mean maybe our talented quarterback coming in next year has a chance starting right away? I think I'm dreaming but I guess that is one take on the article.
Agreed. Basically it's saying, thank you for trying your best, Maxwell.
No Huddle Spread Attack Here We Come
Oregon Jr in the making?
Oh no..... Running qbs get hurt
But they also win NCs,
Signed, Saint Tebow
Roushar couldn't recruit Forbin to show up at little kids B-Day party
I don't think it's outdated, we just don't have a very talented oline. If oline played to its preseason potential we'd be sitting at 10-1
Class of 2010
I know we all love the smash mouth style of the 2007 and 2008 offenses, but the truth is that we've been a spread team disguised as a power team since then due to OL problems. We might as well just admit what we are.
Adapt to your players. Make our offense looks like the Lions' for the next year or two and if or when we get a line that is less than 2/5th converted D lineman we can go back.
What are you talking about? It would be the safest birthday party in history. I guarantee that he won't deviate from your plan.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Football is cyclical. I seem to remember hearing rumors about quite a few mobile QBs dotting the landscape in the 70's and early 80's.
Glass in the cake would signify all the end arounds.
Yes. JLS to be brought on as OC.
No joke; people want a 180 degree change when about a 15 degree change would do.
Quite a few of the playcalls have worked, in that receivers are getting open, but either Maxwell is throwing it over their heads, or they're dropping it. Better execution is needed.
That said, I would like to see more creativity. Doesn't need to be 5 wide with a Wild cat QB that hands off on an end around that turns out to be a throw-back to the other side where they then launch it to the QB who's running down the middle of the field.
Play-action at the goal line using the tight ends/FBs, end arounds more than once or twice per game, tosses, delayed draws with a speed back (admittedly need one first) . . . there's a lot that can be done with the pro-style that isn't being done regularly.
Really, this is the exact same O that actually averaged more YPG and PPG than Treadwell's 2010 unit. There's worse execution, and the blame can go around to just about every player and coach short of Bell.
Rocky, even YOU!
Roushar's birthday parties would be historic.... meaning they'll be out of the 50's.
Nίκη για MSU
We actually have all that stuff in our playbook?
Who would have known?
It's in there, but it seems they only go to it once or twice a season (play-action at the goal line).
I love love love utilizing play action from a heavy set from the 3 yardline and in. Have a TE or FB chip a defender and the D seems to forget about him. Easy to leak either on a shallow out or a hook. New England does this regularly, usually reporting an LB as eligible and sneaking him out. Especially given that most teams expect MSU to pound pound pound with Bell, have everything looking like it's going to the middle and have a TE peel off.
Really irritated me that they didn't try that at least once on all those 1 yardline snaps vs. Northwestern. Misdirection works great in short yardage because opponents expect you to just barrel straight ahead.
Pass for 5
Wish a little more variety would show up and our receivers can hang onto a ball.
