My roommates and I have this problem were no one can clean up after themselves for some reason. This turns into a 4 hour cleaning session once a week usually with one or two of us doing all of it and the others going into hiding. Or we will throw a party and the house wont get cleaned up for a week after it. Beer cans, cups, empty food shit, crap all over the place. Next time ill take pics.
I grew up in a household that you take responsibility of your own shit and clean up after yourself. I grew up in a household in which you take the iniative to do something if you see the need for something to be done. For example, trash will pile up or the sink will pile up with dishes and no one will do it. I end up having to do it myself. (One of my three roommates is a big help and he actually takes care of his shit eventually)
I've asked my roommates before about cleaning up after themselves or how we need to do a better job all together cleaning and I get a response of "what do you expect? we are four college guys?"
I don't know, maybe I'm expecting too much. I just hate having to deal with someone elses mess in a shared living space, I don't care how messy your room is. We share this kitchen, we share this living room, clean it so other people can enjoy it.
What do I do?
You get your own place is what you do.
Thinking about kicking the messy one out on the streetz.
You want me to shoot them?
What's the matter with you? Is this what you've become, a Hollywood finocchio who cries like a woman? "Oh, what do I do? What do I do?" What is that nonsense? Ridiculous!
we have a game where you pile shit on top of the trash can until it all falls over...loser has to take it out. its pretty much jenga on steroids, but it works. problem solved.
This is why God invented Mexicans.
I like this idea
I feel like this already happens. Except the loser doesnt take it out.

The only thing that pisses me off about my roommates is when they don't soak pans, and they never do the dishes. But, that is not too big of a deal.
We recently had 4 bags of trash sitting in our kitchen.
You're fucked. It's always a race to the bottom with roommates. The only thing you can do now is have a lower floor of tolerance than he/they do.
It happens. We play the same game with the dishes. We caught a guy cheating one day so we threw all the dishes on his desk when he went to class.

HAHA. Speaking of soaking pans... one of mine thinks its a great idea to just put water in the pan and then put it back on the stove and let it sit there for daysss. It currently smells like rotten fish in my house because of this.
Our roommates soak them but still never wash them. He made fish yesterday and the pan is still on the stove and smelling up the whole house. I always try and tell him its easier to clean it right away then waiting but he insists its not.
Are you sure its not their girlfriends smelling up the house?
YOU ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM?! WAIT A MINUTE? WHATS YOUR NAME? ARE WE ROOMMATES?
Doesn't have one.
He's not the kind to really get girlfriends. I dont think he gets out much.
Just throw all of the shit that gets left out in the trash and be done with it. When the sloppy dude asks where something is, tell him it is in the trash. It worked for me.
that won't work. if he balances the pans on top of all the other shit, he still has to smell it...but if all the piled up shit falls over when throwing said pans away, he has to take out the trash. hes screwed either way.
you should have someone mediate.
I'm dealing with that in the dorms right now. There's just crap everywhere. You clean it up, and it goes completely unnoticed and looks like crap within a few days. I've come to accept it now that some people either A) Don't really care, or B) Care but never learned to clean shit up. And neither one really changes.
