I know this has been discussed ad nauseam, but I really don't see a reason why we shouldn't be #1 in the polls?
We have the best losses out of any of the "best teams". Tied for first in the best league in the country. We have been much more consistent and have been playing our best ball as of late with multiple injuries. Are people just completely overlooking MSU?
Listening to halftime of the Indiana v. OSU game was ridiculous. It was as if Indiana didn't even play and lose to Illinois this week. What's the point of playing the game if you just overlook the losses?
All agree polls don't matter right now, but I really don't see how we can't make a hard earned case for a 1 seed right now if Indiana and scUM are "sure-in" locks.
I would say we are not #1 because the new polls have not been released yet.
Back up in you ass with the ressurection.
Couldn't care less. Being ranked #1 is for programs with inferiority complexes.
Like, say...... scUM.
UConn and Minnesota arent exactly the best losses.
You're asking 2 different things. We're not #1 in the polls because of the mechanics of poll voting. Duke has a much better case for #1 than do we.
Are we a 1 seed? If the tournament started today we'd be a low 2 high 3. We continue to win and we control our destiny for 1 seed.
This. Who cares it doesn't mean shit.
Duke is the only team I'd say really "deserves" to be ahead of us, maybe Miami and Indiana. I think in the coaches, we jump to 5 behind Duke, Indiana, Zona and Gonzaga (unless Duke or Zona loses today).

Because Tom Izzo doesn't want to be No. 1 in February.

Kansas should drop about 15 spots.

Duke might be out.....Boston College is giving them trouble right now

Which one are you??
When's the last time a mid-major has been #1? Gonzaga could be 1 tomorrow. Zona and Miami possibilities as well
This. I'm with Izzo: the only time I care about rankings is the last poll released. If we're #1 then, I'm good. For the rest of the season, we can be #1, Top 5, Top 10, unranked, none of it matters.
Last week of the season. THAT matters.
Thank you, Denicos.
How was O$U ranked ahead of us?
Happened last week. Some program in Washtenaw county I think.
Duke will be #1
I'd have to guess Memphis (vacated year), maybe St. Joes in 04-ish when they went undefeated. I think Stanford was undefeated that same year though, so they might not have made it to #1.
Dook will be number 1.
With MSU/Miami flipped in AP/Coaches
OSU had big games coming up against top ten opponents. Makes for better ratings for espn/CBS.
hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.
Somehow they will still be ranked ahead of us.
No, but um will be.

Might have to hold back on our Zona predictions...
Coaches Poll, I think the only team we pass is Kansas. But I think Miami will rightfully jump us.
