Seth Davis has
4.Arizona (if they win)
Figures. I just noticed b4 they lost that they were 10. But its w/e I only care about the B1G championship and the Ncaa tourney.

Signature win...we don't have one, yet. I think we'll have to beat IU or UM to get bumped into consideration.
Edit: we did until KU decided to shit the sealy posturepedic. I say we're at 9 in AP and 6 in Coach'swih UM at 8 in AP and 7 in Coach's.

Being #1 is different than being a #1 seed. We shouldn't be #1 right now but we should be at very least a dark horse for a #1 seed. The only real issue with us so far is that we have more losses than the other top 5-6 teams. ( Though a few did lose, I normally wait for the rankings to check W-L so forgive me if I am a bit off) Anyway what I noticed last week is the coaches poll doesn't have any 4 loss team above us and only OSU and Louisville are ahead in the AP. OSU will fall and not sure about Louisville. If we keep winning we definitely will continue to rise in the rankings but I don't think we can really expect to be #1 when 2 or more teams only have 2 losses. ( which will change or has already changed) What matters more is being the #1 team at the end not in the polls.
hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.
Seth Davis showing MSU some love in his rankings:
Seth Davis @SethDavisHoops
1. Ind 2. Mia 3. Duke 4. MichSt 5. Mich 6. Ariz 7. Gonz 8. Syr 9. Ohio St 10. Fla 11. KSt 12. Pitt 13. Wisc 14. Lou 15. New Mex 16. Butler
Kind of suprising he has OSU at #9 considering 2 straight losses. No KU in sight either.
December 3, 2011 - Forever haunted by what I witnessed...
OSU and KU will be lucky to be ranked in the top 15.

OSU at 9 has gotta be a typo
He has KU at 23
MSU is #1 right now - in the B1G....and that's all that matters right now.
People are going to be pissed when UM is ranked ahead of MSU tomorrow. I only care about what happens Tuesday.
Duke is 1 or 2 games behind Miami in the ACC. If Miami's name was UNC, they would get all the #1 votes.
let people be pissed in february about rankings and that anger will quickly be forgotten with a #1 seed in auburn hills and being placed in the inidianapolis region.
this is february. it doesn't really matter.
Because Delaney would never allow it.
If you lose two straight games against teams that are ranked higher than you, why should you drop? (especially when one of them was a road game at Michigan that you took to overtime)
If you lose 2 games, you drop
Doesn't matter who you played
A 6 loss team shouldn't be in the top 10 right now
If I had a vote. I would say...
1. Miami (Fl)
4. Michigan State
9. Ohio State
I'd have Kansas around 15-20 but would bump them back to 10 if they started playing basketball again.
Michigan State University is the university of Michigan
They will drop when the rankings are released tomorrow. But Seth Davis is showing some common sense here, and you claim it must be a typo.
You mean the philosophy where a team loses games and drops in the rankings?
Where could I have come up with such a dumb idea?
I don't think we've got a strong case for #1 yet, but it might yet come.
+1 anyway for spelling ad nauseam right.
But Miami's name isn't UNC and Duke's name is Duke.
I see it being
I think it should be
Not sure where you came up with that dumb idea. Not by using your brain, that's for sure.
Other than "because that's what usually happens", please explain how it makes sense that a team drops in the rankings when they lose to teams who were better than them based on rankings. If the number 10 team loses to the number 1 and 3 teams, isn't that what was expected to happen based on the rankings? Why are you all of a sudden considered worse?
If I had a vote:
4 Michigan State
6 Ohio State
*Yes it is a bit B1G heavy, but the B1G schools have more impressive resumes and SOS, and I am not going to drop a team because they have more losses for playing a tougher schedule.
