I concur, it doesn't take much to plant 2 rudimentary bombs 100 yards apart and then dial 2 different phone numbers to detonate them.
It just goes to show that you don't need a sophisticated group to do something like this. Not that Al Qaeda is necessarily sophisticated, they've had their leadership continually "droned" over the last 12 years.
Damnit, if he retained much of Lott's old staff then that office is full of hot chicks, what kind of sick son of a bitch would do that?
Hot chicks? We have rules here dummy!

I'm sure there is some useful surveillance video of the area. Think of all the businesses in that area....Not to mention there are probably traffic cams. Something has to show something.
CNN Showing 2 photos of a suspicious bag sitting next to a mail box.
These photos were provided from a local TV Station.

It's not complex. You could get everything you need at Radio Shack for less than $100 (other than the explosive of your choice, whether it's gun powder, fertilizer or whatever)
-wire into the positive and negative diodes of the speaker on the cell phone board
-When the phone is called, it activates the ringer, which makes the connection between those two components and kicks off the signal to detonate the explosive.
Two IEDs were detonated near the race’s finish line. An expert explains how they work and how they can lead investigators back to the bomb makers
Boston is one of the most covered cities in the US with CCTV cameras.
Quick shot from TV. Image on the right is blurred out by CNN.
That could be it, fence blown backwards behind it. Now they did say they send black nylon for testing earlier, maybe the other one or they just aren't sure what they found yet.
Why would they allow that bag to be inside the barricades? You'd think someone would see it sitting there and at least say to someone that it should be outside the barricade so it doesn't tip over onto the course or something.
That bag doesn't look black, but nylon in the sun can look like a different color because of the shinny nature of the fabric.
Maybe related maybe not...CNN now reporting a letter confirmed with Ricin poison was sent to Senator from MS but intercepted.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he was told the letter was addressed to the office of Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Mississippi. After the envelope tested positive in a first routine test, it was retested two more times, each time coming up positive, the law enforcement source said. The package was then sent to a Maryland lab for further testing.
Senators were briefed on the matter Tuesday evening and told the congressional post offices would be temporarily shut down.
"It was caught in the screening facility. That's why we have an off-site screening facility for mail," said Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri.
There's a reason I call him "Mumbles" Menino.
Thank you, Denicos.
Are those the same locations? The one with the bag has no tree, but the one to the right has a tree. Also the background looks different.
Thanks for an excuse to listen to it again.
One of my favorite songs from the 80's!
They way they were talking on TV they were both the same location.
Mail box is in both, but they look like they are from slightly different angles. The huge News 7 logo takes blocks out a lot of the photos.
One also looks like its zoomed in a bit compared to the other.

There's a clearer picture here.
Thanks, much much better.
Also the table and chairs... It does seem a bit off to me now that you mention it.
IN FACT unless the tree is blurred out in the first picture, please notice the crowd control siding. Look at the size of it in the 2nd blurred picture. you have roughly 1 siding piece in between the mailbox and tree at most. In the first picture it shows ahead of the mailbox 1 1/4+ pieces of siding. That would lead me to believe that these are in fact different areas.

Looks right to me.

Where is the tree in the 1st picture?
