Glad IU got the win, but
you do realize that they were fouling on purpose at the end right?
looks like 10 FT attempts were intentional
7-15 isn't that bad

You average 80 posts a month and I've never seen one until now.
That's just crazy.
There were no less than 7 fouls at the end by um to stop the clock. That counts for at least 14 of those free throws.
Lesson: watch more basketball before you sound like a dumbass again.
Even most scUM fans are saying the refs were decent, except for the continuation call. Michigan got away with murder most of that game.

12 IU free throws in the final 1:42 as Michigan was fouling INTENTIONALLY.
Not according to my facebook feed
missed it: went out for kick ass pizza, a great movie and then got laid: eff SCum....I assume we played da hoosiers tougher than da weasels.....true?
About the same. IU played about as well, but Michigan couldn't handle their athletes as well as we could. Honestly, if Appling is in all game we probably beat IU last week.
UM settled for the 3 way too much because they were afraid to take it inside.
hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.
That, and the FUBARed 10 sec call that was 7 sec.

Didn't watch but I doubt they're afraid...just not good enough. McDouche, Morgan and Co. are weak.....period.
The much more telling stat? Rebounds. IU 36, UM 22. Game. Blouses.
Sparty > Walverines
The more aggressive team going to the hoop is going to shoot more free throws (in general). It's not a whole lot different to our game down in Bloomington. IU threw that 2-3 zone against MSU and MSU really didn't get a ton going toward the basket and really couldn't work it in the post all that much. IU (Oladipo, Yogi, Watford) attack the basket when going against man defense and their quickness and athletic ability get them to the foul line.
I'm not sure Michigan is afraid to take it inside, but they sure do seem to settle for outside shots quite often (not always 3's, but jump shots instead of getting in the lane to make things happen)
And if the good Lord’s willin’,
I’m a keep on chillin’,
refillin’ and flyin’ high
How bad was that call, though? A foul? Yes, I think Hardaway got mostly arm on the play. But LeBron James thought that was some ridiculous continuation.
by Ted Valentine standards, the officiating was world-class (since he always sucks balls). I disagree about IU being the more aggressive team or UM settling for too many 3's, I thought Michigan was very aggressive going to the rim in the first half and they should have been rewarded with more trips to the free throw line during that span. the problem for UM is that they attack the rim almost exclusively with Burke going one-on-one, and you are always far less likely to get a call in that situation than if you attack the rim out off the pass (since a pass for an easy look highlights for the officials the defender that is out of position). I don't think UM was settling for 3's, the reality is that they get almost zero easy looks in the paint out of their half-court sets and the only kid on their roster who is really a danger off the bounce is Burke and so they are forced to take 3's late in the shot clock. as for rebounds, IU had more rebounds simply because Michigan took 20 more shots than IU and so there were a helluva lot more opportunities for defensive rebounds.
the takeaway for me last nite was that (a) Michigan will have a tough time in March with a half-court game, (b) Ted Valentine still sucks, and (c) it is time for Dick Vitale to die, or at least retire. Vitale is effing horrible.
I think we should take some of these people, and send 'em up to Bear Mountain for a picnic.
They will not do well against balanced teams with solid inside games...end of story....jacking up 3's and not being able to effectively penetrate last night, coupled with ugly big man play.....no fouls inside.
That's bs, Indiana gifted a win again
Not like i want anyone but MSU for the BTT championship, but if we don't make it it would be at least a great matchup to see IU-scUM on a neutral court in Chicago. With how aggressive both teams are, the home court referee thing is impossible to ignore. scUM will cruise against them in Ann Arbor.
Maybe we'll manage the 1 seed, and we can watch that matchup as the semifinal game.
excuses are rolling in, starting with their douchey beat writer with mlive, baumgardner. Morgan was hurt and Stauskas had the flu...so.....................didn't really count.
now with the judicious addition of punctuation...
Nίκη για MSU
But ESPN kept hyping up UM saying they guard the opposition but do not commit fouls.....and talking about the fraud five....
UM fan's crying in their beers about how they didn't really lose, were screwed etc....no way not from that classy fan base...
I think all the MSU fans who watched the MSU/IU game can testify the home cooking at IU is very strong.
