This wasn't one of them though. Michigan got away with a ton including McGary's crazy moving screens on every play. Burke probably should have fouled out too. They did what they could to make it so that it was a "competitive" game down to the wire. It could have easily been a 15+ point win for Indiana.
I watched the game with 3 U of M alums. None of them were particularly upset with the officiating. I was actually shocked out how well-called the game was. They let'em play, and I like that.
UM doesn't get to the rack.
Shocking that Radio Raheem posted something about Michigan basketball..
I don't think many of the drives that Burke took deserved to be called fouls. The problem was that Michigan missed a ton of bunnies in the first half. It didn't help that IU couldn't miss in the first ten minutes. I thought the refs were fair and let the guys play. That continuation was a bit far fetched, but didn't alter the game. Hand it to IU though, they hit the free throws to seal the game.
The team that deserved to win the game won the game. Michigan is a young team and it's going to take some time to learn how to win on the road. I like that the clawed back twice and didn't give up. They just have to stop putting themselves in that position.
although it had nothing to do with the outcome of the game, the continuation call was a total effing joke. either call the foul on the ground or call the travel (last time I checked a jump stop followed by 2 full steps is a travel 2 times over), but counting the basket was just plain stupid. there's no excuse for missing that kind of call, regardless of where in the game you are.
I think we should take some of these people, and send 'em up to Bear Mountain for a picnic.
Either it was a foul or a jump ball.
Meh, I thought the refs were fine. Indiana was the better team on the floor yesterday and played out of their minds. Hell I think they started the game something like 8-8 shooting and finished it knocking down free throw after free throw. Give them some credit. I thought their defense was smothering on our backcourt. Stauskas couldn't get open all game long and Oladipo was all over Hardaway and Burke. That kid can really play.
Can't wait to see the game in AA, I think it will be another shootout.

And IU was the more agressive team offensively the entire game! BeeLine didn't have a problem with the officials.
