Michigan State sophomore guard Travis Trice avoided another serious head injury Thursday night and should be OK to play in Wednesday’s game against Minnesota, his father said today.
“He’s fine, I just talked to him,” the elder Travis Trice, head basketball coach at Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne High, told the Free Press. “He’s been able to eat, he has a little headache, but he’s feeling OK. It’s nothing like before.”

MSU coach Tom Izzo didnt have a firm prognosis when he spoke with media after Thursdays win, and he didnt sound optimistic. He said Trice could be out
I hope he can sit out an extra game. I think Trice is a big part of a big run that we put on. I love when he shoots the 3 and he can handle the ball very well. Hopefully he doesn't rush back because we need him more in March than we do in Feb.
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
Good news. He's a huge part of this team right now.
Trice is a tough kid. And I'm not just saying that because he's smaller than most of the other guys, he's legit. Mentally and physically. He's been asked to play above his role, and often while hurt. He's going to be a great captain someday soon.
100% agree with this, and izzo is smart enough to know that these next couple games arent do-or-die. plus i really think we can beat minnesota without him
Overreacting Dan and I are going to take credit for this. I was at the Boise game earlier in the year where GH got injured, and when I came home, I brought home subway for us. We ate it, no injury.
I was at the game where Appling limped off earlier this year, and got subway. No injuries.
Same pattern last night. We ate our Subway Club (Pepper Jack, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Green Pepper, Mayo, Honey mustard) and Oven Roasted Chicken (Pepper Jack, Spinach, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Salt & Pepper, Parm Cheese, Chipotle Southwest), both on Herbs & Cheese, with extra napkins, and no injury for trice.
Welcomed news. He's an invaluable part to the success of this team.
"I love March!" - Tom Izzo
Is it you, or a certain sandwich artist we should be thanking?
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
Depends on if it was Ross or not.
They held him out of class and practice and he still has s headache. He had a previous recent concussion. I am sceptical that he is "fine". BTW, how do you get smashed in the head without a foul being called.
Wait...he skipped class?
Oh...boy...not this again.
I have wondered this myself.
How about the end of this story - Arthur Ray will be playing for two years at Fort Lewis under coach John L. Smith.
Pics of sammiches?
Kinda like the old saying about mixed feelings.
Arthur Ray has 2 more years of football! (They will be on JLS's team.)
