Zeller Burke Oladipo Thomas and Appling?
Burke, Oladipo, and Thomas are locks. Appling will probably get it since someone from MSU will be on the first team. Zeller will get the last spot for reputation and I'll leave it at that.
It would be hard to choose which Spartan most deserves first team. Payne, Harris and Appling all are playing great. Nix was awesome tonight as was Dawson. They may be the best team in the country right now. This is the best inside/outside team I've seen from MSU in a very long time.

I think Payne deserves it most but there's no way there's way they'll put him on the first team over Thomas and Zeller.
I know. Sucks but right now his game is beautiful. Rebounding, inside moves, outside shot, good defense, free throws. Just great.
Hard to choose who from MSU. When you have a team that actually plays TEAM BB, then it makes it difficult for press writers who look for the glory-seeking guys on court to vote for a team player.
WHEN MSU wins the conference title, then I'm betting it's a toss-up between Appling and Payne for first team, with the other going to the second team. They won't give us both... sorry.
If coaches are voting? I'm guessing Appling first team, no question. Coaches respect the guy too much, which is a good thing! Keith deserves that.

This. We have such a balanced team. This team would get MUCH more recognition this year if Dawson hadn't blown his knee out last year--Final Four, if not a decent shot at the natty.
Any chance a spartan doesn't make it? Who would be the guy to take his spot?
Appling over craft for sure
so mattyfresh and so clean
Probably someone from Iowa or Illinois.
Burke, B.Paul, Oladipo, Thomas, and Zeller.
Media is in love with Indiana and Michigan. There's a pretty good chance a Spartan doesn't make it on there (wouldn't be surprised if it went Burke, Hardaway, Oladipo, Thomas, Zeller for that one. The media will fuck MSU)... Coaches will put a Spartan on a team because they understand the league and don't have any fixation on the two programs previously mentioned.

Prolly true. But this would be awful. Appling and MSU need to close step so there is no hardaway or Paul.
Brent Yarina from BTN has been saying that it is going to be Zeller, Thomas, Burke, Oladipo, and Hardaway, and that there isn't much argument. People ripped him saying that Appling should be on instead of Hardaway and he was taken aback.
Yeah once Hardaway goes 3-for-13 from the field in the Big Ten semis hopefully everyone would then realize he was never deserving of first team consideration.
What about that dude from Minny?
You could argue that, but with the IU and scUM love fest, it's going to be hard to see a Goofer on the team.
Of course he was... he probably thought everyone loved Michigan's team and considers them a virtual Final Four lock like he does.
If he wants to put two guys who just shoot a lot and don't do much else (Thomas and Hardaway) on the first team, then he should just put B. Paul on there too. You take Hardaway off of Michigan and they're still a Top 10 team IMO. You take Appling off MSU and they might not win 15 games.
Minnesota might have 2 or 3 players on the second team, but they won't have the weight to make it to first team.
Zeller, Oladipo, Burke and Thomas are guaranteed.
If MSU wins at minimum a share of B1G: insert Appling
If MSU does not win a share of B1G: insert Brandon Paul or THJ
I disagree with your assessment of Hardaway's importance. I think, moreso last year than this year but it's still true, that Hardaway is really the key to um's success. If you shut him down, you win. Burke is going to get his regardless, you're going to get something out of Robinson III and Stauskas, but Hardaway can be shut down and he's a hot head. Beating um is all about Hardaway
I think that guy at MSU has a chance.
