The movie post about "classics" that some people think are funny while others don't laugh made me think of comedians in the same light. Have several friends that bust a gut laughing all the time at Jim Gaffigan. Occasionally I find him somewhat amusing, but more often than not, I am sitting there wondering what they found so funny? Apparently I like other comedians a lot more.
What do you guys think? Funny?
Love Brian Regan too. Take luck.

Funny when in the right mood.
Opened the thread just to post this.
Photo on strike.
A man's gotta eat!
I'm not crazy about him. We got a DVD of his for Christmas one year (not sure why) and I fell asleep. It was all about food and eating and being fat. My brother loves him, though.
"This was a great Spartan day." --Walter Adams
Before you ask, yes, I am a girl.
I enjoy some Jim Gaffigan!
"Bloody midgets ruined by day" Cym Jim
Jim Gaffigan's schtick gets old after 10 minutes.
Saw him live last year and have seen him on TV numerous times. He's funny, but no more funny than the average guy who headlines at comedy clubs.
"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple, it makes bacon."
I find the average guy who headlines at comedy clubs to be vastly underrated. Though more often than not I prefer the supporting act.
I think he's funny but ranks way below Louis CK, Mitch Hedberg, Greg Giraldo, Kevin Hart or Lewis Black for me.
He's funny. Bill Burr is probably my favorite comedian out there right now. His stand up is great.
Greg Giraldo was very unfunny to me. Way too vulgar and really relied on shock laughs. I'm by no means a puritan but if swearing is a comdeic crutch, the guy was a quadriplegic
Gaffigan is pretty funny on twitter. He's probably funnier if you have a kid since some of his more recent stuff has a lot to do with that.
You shut your whore mouth. Giraldo was one of the funniest out there.
Does Loius CK also just rely on dirty words for his jokes?
"Have you ever looked at a photo and thought, "who is that ugly fat guy?" and then realized its was a picture of yourself"
Greg Giraldo was Lisa Lampinelli light. He was awful. Louie is self deprecating, that's his charm. All his comedy is about how he's a piece of shit or how shitty things happen to him. Don't try and compare the two.
I've been thinking of his pope bit since yesterday
Calmer than you are
In answer to OP: yes, he is funny.
"Leave the gun.....take the cannoli"
"It's not your job to be as confused as Nigel."
Ouch. I guess somebody got his rat tail caught in the tilt a whirl at work today ;)
Hazard of being a carney. They have good pizza in a cup here though. people come from all around for it.
