I thought this thread was going to be about Wisconsin.
Screw that, keep him out of football. That may be where all the glory is in HS and College, but the real money is in baseball. There is always a team looking for a crafty lefty with an average out pitch to round out a bullpen. Get into arbitration and just watch that money flow in. The running back is going to be selling insurance to pay the mortgage when the pitcher is signing some stupid 3 year 25 mil deal to a team with no lefties.
I agree. One and done needs to go..
Antoine Joubert was going to go to law school when he was done playing basketball.
Don't think -- it can only hurt the ballclub
This is exactly my train of thought. With as much as I LOVE football, and would freaking love to coach this kid, Im going to find me the best pitching coach available (at the right age of course) and let the kid learn from the right people.
Ive already got the kid hitting the ball a country mile. I cant teach all he knows about pitching, but all he ever needs to know about hitting he can get from me.
If he wants to learn it of course.
If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day.
oh yeah. Im just running with it for now, for lack of anything better to do. Going to educate the kid first, many more academic schollys available than athletic. But I will prepare him for whatever he wants to do. If I can build a varsity rower from my oldest kid, I can certainly build an athlete in a sport I know a little more about!! haha
