Opening Day Line Up out there:
Verlander is pitching.
8th time this line up has started on the season, the most common.
April in the D!!

Tigers are 14-10 in April this season, win and they are 15-10, lose and they are 14-11
Other Playoff Year Aprils (162 Game Era):
2012: 11 - 11
2011: 12 - 14
2006: 16 - 9
1987: 9 - 12
1984: 18 - 2
1972: 7-4 (Strike Shortened)
What does being 14-10 in April mean? Absolutely nothing.
If the Tigers win and finish 15-10 in April, I'll be pretty happy. Especially when you consider the bullpen issues (which may at least have a bandaid with Valverde) and the West Coast swing which is always tough.
Best tigers lineup, if you axe me
University of Michigan: Keeping ugly girls out of East Lansing since 1837!
Beginning to look like the rest of the Central Division teams will be hovering around .500 for the season.
A few +4 to +5 months should get the Tigers a comfortable division lead.

The fact that they got the West Coast trip out of the way this early I think will be huge down the streatch.
Kansas City has to go out there for 6 (part of a 9 game trip ending in Houston) in mid may, then the last week of the season they have to play a 3 game series at Seattle (part of a 6 game trip ending the season in Chicago)
Minnesota goes out west for 7 at the end of July, then play 4 in Oakland in Sept.
Cleveland goes to Seattle for 3 at end of July (6 game trip starting at Minnesota), then again at the end of August to end a 9 game trip starting in Minnesota
Chicago goes to LAA for 4 (ending a 7 game trip starting in Minnesota) in mid may, Then 6 at Sea and Oak at the start of June.
The Tigers are Done-Zo with that long trip. The farthest the Tigers travel for the rest of the season is 4 at Houston next week.
I dunno... Lots of World Series berths in your data

4 out of 7 ain't bad (though there was no "play-off" in 1968. Last year before the split into divisions.
Interesting schedule quirks with the West Coast trips for the AL teams. Stark ran a pretty good article today on the fucked up MLB schedule. With Detroit only getting one rain out, and against a division opponent, I definitely think it sets up well going forward.
Former Tiger Alert: Wilken Ramierez in the line up for the Twins. Batting 8th and playing CF.
Trey Burke throwing out the opening pitch.
He has to throw it 50 feet to pass Denard's pitch punt.
No he isn't. He cancelled.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Wow, great inning there for JV.
Looks like a beautiful night in the D, it as well here in EL. Hope you all are having a good night fellas.
That was quick work by verlander, geeze
86 down here with thunder in the distance. Love it. Grill is warming up and an 18 pack in the fridge
Sounds great CIB. Cheers to that.
