I've watched the 1st 3 episodes... Is this show going to pick up? Or am I wasting time?

My favorite series on TV right now. I've read all the books, loved them. It definitely picks up. But honestly, if you're 3 episodes in and you have no interest at all, it might not be your thing. I would definitely recommend that you keep going though.
Season 1 picks up very quickly after the 4th or 5th episode.
Let me get this down, $100 million. Oh wait, I have a better idea. Instead of $100 million, how about I send you a hobo's dick cheese?
Yeah man its awesome. After the next episode you be like "Aww hell yeah". I'm thinking its the one with the ending scene at the Inn
Haha. I fell asleep during the first episode. May give it another shot since it is something I should like.
Just wait until you find out that Joffrey is actually Ned's father.
In the first episode alone guys get killed by badass ice warriors, a hot blonde princess gets naked and gets married at a barbarian wedding where dudes murder each other, and a kid gets thrown off of a tower after discovering a royal incestuous relationship. There's plenty enough stuff to criticize the show with, but being slow of pace isn't one of them. It just might not be for you.
I fell asleep twice before trying again when I was wide awake. Now my favorite show.
Maybe part of the problem is you're falling asleep so you don't know what happens. This isn't CSI: Miami - you have to pay attention.
Thanks, I decided to stick with it. At episode nine now... I like it
No turning back now, you will soon be addicted like myself.

No problem. Glad you like it! You're on 9 as in you haven't watched 9 yet?
You nonreaders are in for a real mindfuck at the end of season 3.
Just finished 9. Pretty stunned.
My condolences, Stark.
Clanking Dragon Inn
Even more so than at the end of season 1?
Just got caught up with this show over the weekend, I am now officially addicted. I might have to start reading the third book because I'm not sure if I can wait until March 31st.
After episode 1 it got slow until about episode 5 or 6. The second half of both seasons were incredible.
Yes even more so but we can't talk about it cuz its spoilerific.
Thank you please don't. In fact we should retitle this thread the non spoiler GOT thread.
I'm considering picking up the books because I want to know what happens so badly. I've heard it's incredible.
I finished book two. My goal was to read book three before the season started, but I just couldn't commit to start it. I listen to the audiobook version on my commute, and it seriously was taking six weeks to finish a book (and book three is even longer).
Just be aware that the books diverge from the TV show. The overall story is the same, but sometimes they change the events around a bit, for the sake of timing and pacing.
Reminds me of The Wire. Such complex character development and storylines, that it takes a while to really get going but it is masterfully done.
Storm of Swords is the best book in the series imo by a considerable margin.
