If we make it to the Final Four, there's a good chance we lose two out of the foursome of Payne, Appling, Harris and Dawson.
If that happened on top of the absence of an incoming 2013 class, the graduation of Nix, transfer of Kearney and self-implosion of Byrd...next year would be...challenging to say the least.
There will be a 2013 class. Take it easy, troll.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Troll? Seriously? You haven't the slightest clue rook.
Who? Will they project as projects ?
MSU is a finalist for Schilling. More players will come available once coaches start getting fired/jumping ship. Just advising that people might want to let the process play out before declaring disaster. Burke and Green were late commits after coaches left other schools. Guys come out of nowhere. Happens every year.

I've only heard about the two PF's. Gavin Schilling out of Illinois and the juco James Kelly. At this point, it's pretty late in the game to get in on anything good besides either a semi-project...or a kid who simply loves the attention that stretching out a recruitment to the last hour provides him. And Izzo (for good reason) doesn't really care for the latter of those two groups of players.
I trust in Izzo 100% but he's a hard worker not a miracle worker. He can't just create 4 star recruits out of thin air in February or March of a recruiting calendar's senior year.

I've seen no one declare anything close to a disaster. Slow down your freak out. The sky isn't falling. We've lost players early to the pros before. Izzo always finds a way to keep the ball rolling.
I just said if we lost two out of those four players as a result of a deep tournament run in March, that next season would become more challenging. Which it would. That's all.
The fact that MSU is a finalist isn't all that encouraging, imo. He looks like a project.
Lot of very good programs offered. UCLA, OSU, Nova. Duke was interested until they got Parker.
tRCMB, a better alternative to fiber in your diet.
Plus the team is adding, in effect, a new player in Kaminsky. That's like bringing in an ultra mature recruit who already knows the system and is comfortable with the coaches, players, and college life. Just have to figure out where he fits in.
Schilling may or not be a project. I don't know. I haven't been blown away by what I've seen of him this far but I'll trust Izzo's judgement and hope for the best. That said I think we can all agree that, at best, he's a plan C or D type recruit after Parker, JW III and ? And the further you go down the list, the worse the odds become in getting a difference maker, at least early in their career.
I'd also like to see one or two 2013 targets at one of the guard positions. In case of emergency, we're going to need one.
Harris should stay one more year, get better (maybe win a Big Ten Player of the Year honor?) and go in the Top 10 in 2014.
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
The same Rico Beard that was 95% confident last week that Appling, Dawson, and Payne were all set to leave after the season?
35,600 posts and counting since 09-09-2002. tRCMB Dead Pool Commissioner.
Like I said, take it FWIW. All those "sources" just like RCR.
Burke is gone. He literally had his bags packed last year, but at the last minute had a change of heart. Won't happen again.
People seriously underestimate the ability of NBA players. Harris would get raped, Payne would get raped, Appling would get raped. It would be a giant rape fest. NBA drafts on talent, and I think that is how Ford ranks the players. But having NBA talent is different from being NBA ready.
It would be dumb for McLemore to not leave because he's a lottery pick. He is only going to hurt his stock by staying. Can't say the same about Harris and Payne because they aren't lottery picks. If they leave it's because they desperately need money.

I think you are right.
The moment is eternal
I could see Payne going if he keeps it up.
I think Harris should probably come back and solidify his first round status and maybe sneak into the lottery.
Seriously? GR III is legit and would be a fool not to turn pro. Should've gone straight from high school.
He hasn't done shit the last few weeks, standing around on offense, weak on defense
So what. Dude is an NBA player and belongs in the NBA, not at UM.
Unfortunately for Harris (and good for MSU) the the NBA loves big 2-guards. 6'4"(? More like 6'3" at best) GH would be best served working his ball-handling and distibuting and be able to spell the PG spot as well as be a (smaller) SG. Combo role worked for Charlie Bell pretty well...Harris will likely need a similar role

While we may be in good shape for Schilling, others have said he'll need a year to get up to speed on defense and tenacity. If that's true, I hope he takes a redshirt, assuming he has one to take.
I've also thought all along that we get a graduated senior from another program. You never know who those guys might be, and it could make a huge difference for us.
But, with Trice's future in question (huge speculation I know), we can't afford to lose Harris. Imagine if Trice had to retire, and Harris jumped early. Not good at all, even if we did bring in a "play today" transfer at the guard spot.
