Leaving this weekend. Definitely plan on trying to hit up Franklin's. Dinner is booked one night for all of us at Jasper's. Heard people mention Salt Lick, Chuy's and Uchiko.
What are some good bar spots...and can someone tell me about the Rainey Street district?
And any good place to go on a SUNDAY night? I mean it is a college town after all...
It is not hard to find a good spot, just walk around.
Don't go to Chuy's its nothing special. If you want TexMex, go to Trudy's. If you can get to Franklin early, go. I've been 4 or 5 times and usually get there at 9:15, people usually tend to arrive on the :30's. If you cant get into Franklin, go check out Ironworks BBQ at Red River and Cesar Chavez (1st street).
One of my favorite restaurants in Hopdoddy Burger Bar on South Congress. Amazing burgers and drinks. Go and get their aioli fries as well.
Check out Rainey St.'s bars. As mentioned before, a block of old houses turned into bars. My favorite is the Lustre Pearl.
Heading to Austin for SxSW over break. Can't wait!
If you are into beer and sausages go to Bangers on Rainery Street. It has over 200 beers and some damn good sausage. The food, not the dudes.
Check out Chicken Shit Bingo at Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon. It's every Sunday on N. Lamar.
Pure Texas !!
Keith Jackson loved some Ironworks
