Basic idea is that the reason he's been looking worse is because he is taking a lot more field goals than he had to in 2010 and that he's been called on to make even harder field goals every year.
Harder kicks? he's missed 4 kicks inside 40 yards this year.
No mention of Taybor?
Moral of the story, Conroy is a good, not great kicker but he's not to blame for the losses. He seems to be best on hard kicks over 50 yards (though only 3 attempts).
Having all these extra blogs and websites you'd think someone, somewhere, would have the balls to lay blame on a player or a coach sometime.
We had a losing record in the 4th best conference in the nation. Though, some would argue that the B1G isn't that strong.
I could live with that if that's where our talent level was. The players need to execute, and that includes Conroy. The fact that he had more kciks this year simply gives us a bigger sample size. It looks more like his first season was a fluke.
I'd expect better out of the FG game, considering we have 2 kickers on scholarship.
Watching the B1G championship, I want to blame Roushar just a little less. Those players last year played the game the right way. Used their bodies and always used their brains and eyes to adjust. Our current group just isn't there yet.

I get the feeling that this article is the first in a series. It's blaming Conroy least of all.
Sorry, can't buy it. He lost me when he started talking about how Conroy had more "hard" kicks this year (defined as 40+ yards), then completely failed to comment on how Dan was 6-10 in the 30-39-yard range.
Thank you, Denicos.
