From the article..
"Incredibly, the short-handed Cornhuskers led for much of the game..."
And again later in the article, "Nebraska led for much of the first half"
Actually- Nebraska led for all over 1 minute 30 seconds in the 2H and 6 minutes in the 1st half.. meaning, MAYBE Nebraska led for 8-9 minutes of the entire game (rounding).. but of course, to Joe, that means "much of the game"
The No. 22 Spartans survived, 66-56, thanks to 17 points from Derrick Nix, 14 from Adreian Payne, 12 from Branden Dawson and one huge shot from Gary Harris.

His writing is so hard to read...1 and 2 sentence paragraphs. WTF!
joe describes exactly what happened,( in a "difficult" style) and now he's a "blue wall" guy?such fragile spartans.
The idea of Ross and Nucky tag teaming Kate Upton is less of a reach than the one made by OP.
Drafting Tim Tebow in the 1st round is less of a reach than the OP's.

Stop protecting Rexrode. OP has a point. After discussing Dawson, he spends 1 paragraph on MSU surviving with a few stats, spends another paragraph giving the most convoluted description of Harris's 3 possible and then 6 paragraphs on Nebraska, how they led "most of the game" (not true) and breaks down their scoring.
It is an article that could appear in a Nebraska paper.
Grow a pair for Christ's sake. We stunk the joint up and get a huge scare at home from a piss poor Nebraska team and your biggest concern is the wrap up article? Unreal.
The Spartans narrowly avoided a devastating 0-4 start to Big Ten play by going 3-1 instead.
Stupidest thread of the year so far. OP and foshIZZO seem to think that MUCH = MOST.
According to Miriam-Webster - a couple definitions of MUCH:
1 a : great in quantity, amount, extent, or degree
3 : more than is expected or acceptable : more than enough
Nowhere does it say that MUCH = MOST. Fosh even says that Joe said Neb led "most" of the game, when he never does.
The truth is, Nebraska did lead for much of the game. The Spartans let Nebraska control the game MOST of the time. This game was painful to watch, considering Nebraska at the Breslin really should have been no contest. Get off your jump to conclusions mat and stop letting your feelings be hurt when one of the better beat writers tells it like it is.
Formally Brian T.
Nebraska had no business being in that game. Quibbling about the description of the foolishness doesn't make change the fact that Nebraska had a good chance to win that game, despite being on the road in E.L., and despite being short handed, and despite being Nebraska.

If only Rexrode were a blower. Everything would be unicorns and double rainbows right now.
Your a retard.
Between horrific FT shooting and ice cold guards, MSU must have left 20 points on the floor. When you do that the game will likely be a close win (or worse).
When a crappy Nebraska team missing 2 of their best players leads for 8-9 minutes in Breslin it just seems like they lead the entire game.

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
He gets in...gasp...3 sentences in a paragraph!
Maybe I am spoiled reading good writers that we have here at Spartan Tailgate or Jim Comparoni at Spartan Mag...
NAIA level thread
"Those fans are in for a world of hurt...they've never gone up against a premium message board fan base like ours."-Vim
That's not a blue wall, it's just bad reporting.
Dominating Press Conferences Since 2007
It's the difference between newspaper writing, which usually consists of short paragraphs, and writing for only online, where you have an infinite amount of space. It's never really bothered me, but I'm sorry it makes your life so difficult.
I wish Joe worked for an online-only outlet. Good writers and reporters are wasted at newspapers now because they're still expected to fit stories in a tight space, whereas online guys have freedom to do just about whatever they want.

I have only myself to blame for opening a Cope thread.

Or this article:
"Reminiscent of [Wisconsin play]"
If by tag team you mean one of them makes the sub while the other one rings her up at the register then the situation is plausible. Any truth to the rumor she's a sweet onion, chicken teriyaki girl?
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
Nah, you are.
Other "blue wall" writer
Oh...the "official" MSU Spartans website
Must be trolling.
-27 and counting . . .
How was it not reminiscent of the Wisconsin alley oop? Maybe we weren't pressuring them as much, I don't remember that well, but it seemed pretty similar to me.
In any case, this is an awful, awful thread. Rexrode is probably the best MSU beat writer out there.
How so? How is that measured?
Fosh is clearly looking for bias from Rexrode that obviously isn't there. In the other thread about this that he created last night, he was "predicting" that Joe would write about it. Forget the fact that because it IS reminiscent of the Wisky play, Charboneau and even the MSU Spartans website covered what was a probably unnecessary last-second lob.
