Jack Taylor of Grinnell College just scored 138 points. 52 of 108 FG, 27 of 71 3FG 7of 10 FT's - they won 179 to 104
How is that even possible?
and yes, that's an NCAA record. I want to know how one guy takes 108 shots in 40 minutes. 71 Threes!!!
Grinnell College's Jack Taylor scored 138 points Tuesday against Faith Baptist to set an NCAA single-game scoring record.
Taylor made 52 of 108 shots from the field, including 27 of 71 from 3-point range. He made 7 of 10 free throws.
The previous NCAA record was held by Clarence "Bevo" Francis, who scored 113 points in a 1954 game for Division II Rio Grande.
The previous school record was 89, scored by Griffin Lentsch last year against Principia.
Grinnell is an NCAA Division III institution.

He took almost 3 shots a minute he played (played 35 mins). Talk about a black hole.
Ann Arbor - John Beilein, coach at the University of Michigan, has extended an offer to transfer in with immediate playing time to Jack Taylor of Grinnell College.
Oh and ESPN said zero assists.
Apparently Grinnell has actually been on ESPN before because of their offense. Basically it's jack up a shot as quickly as possible. Before tonight, Taylor had played 27 minutes total in their first 2 games and was 11-41 shooting overall and 6-34 on 3's. Some dude on the losing team had 70 points and you're not going to hear shit about him.
The kid is from Wisconsin AND has a shaved head. I'm amazed Bo didn't sign him. Must not flop enough.
You serious, Clark?
Formally Brian T.
The guy was 34-44. Also, Grinnell played 20 people in the game!
Isn't this the team that presses all game and just chucks up 3 balls?
Faith had 2 players with 15 or more turnovers
apparently. the little article i found said the school's previous record was 89 points - last year
Yeah if you google the Grinnell Offense it's pretty wild... they sub an entire 5 like a hockey team and just go-go-go
what a joke

Every basketball purist ever created , is turning over in their grave, or vomiting, when it comes to this style of basketball. Its funny to watch.
..........and the irony is they play no-no-no defense.
The press is a glorified 'matador' defense. Allow a quick bucket so you can shoot another three. Great philosophy.
lol just youtubed it. That's crazy. Looks like the Oregon of D-III bball... without the uniforms...
Get the ball, keep moving, one pass before a shot
Meh. Friendly rims.
I was watching the vid on ESPN and the crowd looked completely bored with him just constantly jacking up 3s. It loses it's luster when that's all you do, even if you score 138 points.

IF 70 points gets our students free tacos, what does 130 get their students?
And it's not like they weren't guarding him. He was just creating shots for himself even in the face of a double team. I guess when you're that hot coach just tells you to shoot no matter what.
But he wasn't that 'hot'...he shot less than 50 percent. Not impressed.
