What would happen if you took a ridiculous amount of hallucinogenics at one time?
Let's just say one day that you were with your buddies and you decided to take 500 tabs of LSD, or a ridiculous amount of shrooms/mescaline. Now LSD has profound effects on the mind, but LSD, as a chemical, is fairly harmless to the human body, it takes approximately 7500 average tabs (an average tab having ~100µg) to succumb to fatal overdose by respiratory arrest. So right now I'm just sort of wondering what would happen if you decided to take that many hallucinogens at one time? Would it be just an absolute mind-fuck?
Have any of you fellow RCMBers ever experienced hallucinogens in mass quantities or know someone that has experienced that many hallucinogens at one time?
What was your/that person's experience like?

It all depends on how strong the LSD is. I've taken 5 or 6 hits at once and had a 'meh' trip and I've taken 1 hit of liquid and it was one of the more intense trips. I haven't done any acid in about 12-15 years, but a couple of the stronger trips were from taking 2 hits of double or triple dip and at one time I swear someone just put strychnine on paper to kill my back.
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
You'd be Bill Walton.

Syd Barrett or Peter Allen Green.
Marriage is like flying with kids, if the flight had 500 connections, never ended, Ted Striker were your pilot and you ate the fish.
I ate a 1/4 oz of shrooms once and it was pretty unpleasant, although the day contributed to that and I did it at night. It was definitely intense as hell. I wound up puking and coming down a little while after that. I would never want to do that again.
High School classmate did LSD a few times and went out of his mind. He's severely mentally ill now.
are they even sure that it was Acid that made these people go insane or were they already having psychological problems before the Acid?
Went to some Dead Shows in the late 80s early 90s. After several weeks of basically tripping the whole time you can take an incredible amount and not freak out.
When LSD is 1st synthesized it's a crystal powder, you dissolve this crystal in alcohol to make the liquid. There's strories of people ending up in insane assylums for being dosed with this purist form of LSD.
I do not recommend taking more than 100 hits for anyone. Most people can't handle more than 5-10. Some people can't handle any at all.
Well, you'd hallucinate a lot.
Back in the early 1970s, I knew a guy who decided to take a shitload of acid. I don't know how much, but I'm pretty sure it was still much less than you're talking about. Something happened to him and he was just never the same again. His whole personality changed, his talking and his physical movements slowed way down and were quite different from before, and his expression was often vacant. He would often sit alone on the grass for hours. Everyone who knew him knew something had gone very wrong. I was in touch with him for a few years after that, and he had never "recovered." Based on this, I say that while a large dose wouldn't be fatal, don't assume it would be harmless.
stick with the shrooms...much easier on the body than acid
Um, you would die...
Now with a PhD in Applied Llama Physics...
Very doubtful, but fits the Just Say No narrative.
a buddy of mine decided to take 10 hits once. long story short he ended up streaking through a Walmart at 3 in the morning.
East Lansing- A Drinking Town with a Football Problem
Likely a combination of the two. Moreso with Barrett than Green.
Trevor thanks you.
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
Peter Green was pretty odd about the whole fame thing. Another like that was Mike Bloomfield.
I guess LSD is known to 'awaken' latent mental illness in people so if you think you're genetically more susceptible to that I wouldn't try it.
I've had a few pretty profound spiritual moments on LSD, which I think have changed my perception and mindset for the better.
I think if you're really looking to blast off you should try DMT... Overloading on acid or shrooms will probably just freak you out more than anything.
As someone who has done quite a bit more than their fair share...
I always shuddered at the thought.
I was at a small music fest in upstate NY about 5 years ago with a group of friends. Had a buddy who said he had a piece of bread that a bunch of Liquid ( LSD, but before it's on a tab or other delivery device) had been dropped on it. He didn't know how much...so he ate it.
Got super sick, tossed off all of his clothes.....started FREAKING out. And this is a guy who had probably tripped 100 times.
I'm not trying to judge others, but for me I have never understood the appeal of LSD (or the alike). A), probably lies from anti drug propaganda, but I always remember hearing that LSD burned a tiny hole in your spine or some dumb crap like that. Its likely not true, but it really gives me the creeps to think about it. B) I have done Shrooms a few times, and while it was kinda fun, it was also just like, ehhh.
I read about a guy that worked for the DEA. He had shaved prior to doing the raid and the fumes alone had him tripping really bad. According to doctors, the higher quantities of LSD that you take, the more likely you are to not come off of them at all. Just like any other drug, there is no "set limit" that this will happen at, but eventually you will cause permanent damage.
I'm calling bullshit on this one.
