In the latest City Pulse there's an ad for store managers etc... the interviews are in Frandor....
First Yaya's, then Big Johns, now maybe Halo Burger....what's next, Angelos? Maybe we could put up a Weatherball somewhere....
Halo Burger has been complete garbage since the ownership change.
And until you get a Starlite Coney island, shush!
Flint has thee Weatherball
I loved YaYa's. I used to go to the one on West Saginaw a lot. I think it's been closed for a while though.
if you're from the westside you should try knowing about things other than the westside.
The frandor one has been re-opened for a long while.
Dude, it's just a friggen weatherball.
Call me when Dog 'n Suds opens back up.

What's different about it? The last time I went there was about a week before the change was announced.
Halo Burger used to be about quality ingredients that they bought locally. All their meat used to come from a local butcher in Flint - Abbott Meats. They have since started sourcing lower quality meats from larger distributors. They used to be a local company that supported other local companies, now they are trying to go big business.
Since the ownership change, they are really trying to franchise and start a fast food chain.
I went to the one in Clarkston a few weeks ago, and it was decent but not the same as it was when I was a kid in Flint town, It's basically upscale fast food.
but when is Big Kahuna Burger coming?
It is coming. Driving by frameless today I saw the coming soon sign in the window.
Well, you obviously have time on your hands...
This. The vegetables (lettuce, tomato) aren't fresh, the beef is bland, and they're starting to skimp on the quantities. I think there were two olive slices in the last burger I had there.

Holy crap - I had no idea they made Autoworld t-shirts. Thanks - you just cost me $20. I had to have one of those. I LOVED that place as a kid.
So YOU were the one.
(And happy to help.)
Hey - I was a gearhead from the time I was about 2 years old. A theme park that was a 10 minute drive from our home that was focused on cars? I was SO into that. I made my parents take me multiple times. Dad would get the sweet GM discount/preferred times. It was awesome.
I'm sure I'd probably be bored silly if it still existed, but it was a fond childhood memory.
I did pause wondering if I'd be confused for some ironic hipster, but I'm willing to chance it and rock the Autoworld t-shirt as a tribute.
Can't wait until Pollos Hermanos comes to town.
"Hey!! Gimme one of those hats!"
Definitely hipster material, but so what? Maybe you can wear while you're working on your car?
It's still good, and I would take it over the majority of fast food burgers.
But it's not great like it once was, I would go out of my way to stop there once a week before the ownership change.

Thanks. That's too bad, their burgers were amazing.
I am just meh on the idea of getting a halo burger here. Now if we were to get a fuddruckers then we would have something to celebrate.
Big Kahuna Burger. That's that Hawaiian burger joint. I hear they got some tasty burgers. I ain't never had one myself. How are they?
Any time we're remotely close to Flint, my mom has to get Halo Burger (though, somehow, I've never been). She'll be happy to hear it's heading to Novi (where we live), and I guess I'll finally try it.
