Emotions are flowing, man. I get it, but I'm completely confident that by around 10:30-11pm on Thursday the attitude on this board will be completely different. And after the NU game, people will be making bold predictions on how far MSU can go in the tournament.
Who is the team leader? Its no KA.
Ummm no. Played ok in the last 3 minutes of the second half. Had 13 points in the first 16 minutes of the half. Played much better in the first.
Is this post a joke? We shit the bed the entire 2nd half. We were up in the first half. They scored my points in the 2nd half. Your statement is patently false.
I would LOVE to believe this because he is essential to a deep tourney run. Just not sure where the confidence in him being "fine" is going to come from. Since he went down in the last scUM game, he has not done much of anything positive on the court. This week we heard how he changed his work habits, was watching film, etc... Then he isn't even on the court for the last 10 minutes of a HUGE game.
Something is massively off with him right now, and all we can do is pray that something clicks in the next few weeks.
Izzo said before the game that Dawson had a great week of practice. Something is definitely off in his head. He's just not as explosive as he was earlier in the season.
One Night! One team! Kill blue! Bleed Green!
Agree, this is problem #1. Problem #2 is we have one starter that is a great outside shooter.
Well, first off, Harris did not play like garbage. He didn't play his best game, but he was one of the few that helped to keep us in it. Second off, your argument of "they'll be fine" in regards to Dawson and Nix is horrid. I hope to God that they will be fine, and I can certainly see Nix picking himself up as a senior. But Dawson has done NOTHING over the past couple of weeks. Let us know when you have something more insightful than this.
BT teams have learned how to defend Dawson.
I'm right with ya on that.
But that doesn't explain how lackadaisical he's been on rebounding, running down the court, defending, etc. MSU has had some non-scorers in the past (Walton, Thornton, et al) who would still work their asses off when not scoring. Just because you're being defended well it doesn't mean the rest of your game should disappear.

Thats all koolaid. When is the last time you have seen an MSU team lose 3 straight down the stretch and make a deep run? This team has holes, some just refuse to acknowledge them.

You guys just need to chill out and drink a 6 pck, check that, make it a 12.
Basketball is always up and down like this. A few nights ago, Michigan was possibly going to lose out. A couple weeks ago, we were a favorite for the NC.
We will be fine
I don't even get mad anymore. Like football I now expect these kinds of losses.
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
Our opponents were #1 Indiana, and #16 or whatever OSU on the road and #4 Michigan on the road and all were games that we were on the brink of winning.
I have written off football for sure.
The issue isn't the loses.
Yeah, so it looks like we are sweet 16 team, I can buy that.
You dont really play home games in the tourney, so there
Yeah if MSU is the two seed out West that would be so bad. Id rther be the 2 out West than the 1 in the East.
close doesn't count....all I see is a team that has lost the ability to close out a game and a team that seriously lacks scorers. This team has 3 guys in the starting line up that are mentally fragile. Hell, the only 2 tough guys on this team are Harris/Payne and I fully expect Harris to make mistakes as a freshman.
Fact is if your PG isn't mentally tough you are in deep trouble. Hell, Green while playing 4 last year clearly was the leader of this team and made plays when he had to.
The PG play is the whole glue to Izzo's system of doing things and Appling in his 3rd yr isn't remotely close to what Neitzel/Lucas or even Chris Hill brought to the table.
Dawson, well yea, he just needs the summer to get here so he can work on his entire game.
MSU is getting a 3 or 4 seed.
