I was surprised to see the number of head coaching jobs open at the end of the season (Auburn, Tennessee, Cal, Arkansas, BC, Purdue, NCState, etc.) But things are getting crazier.
With coaches leaving head coaching gigs at mid-tier to upper mid-tier schools like Bielema, possibly Charlie Strong to the SEC, Doeren, and Butch Jones going to Colorado, things really get interesting. With jobs at schools like Louisville, NIU, Cincinnati, Wiscy, Purdue, Cal I firmly believe that
Narduzzi is gone. Cincinnati in my opinion.
Roushar could go to NIU
MSU could really be affected by all this madness.
NIU already promoted a head coach from within. Roushar could still be hired at Western
I think Narduzzi could stay or go, it's 50/50 by my estimation.
I doubt NIU hires Roushar. It is possible but I doubt it. They hired their current offensive coordinator.
I saw someone on the Badgers board mention Roushar to Wisco...the fact that it was me should not deter rumors.
Will it really be that bad if Narduzzi leaves? Dantonio won a NC at Ohio state as the DC.
We didn't think it would be that bad when Treadwell left, and he wasn't nearly as good at his job as Narduzzi is.
This. Nailed it.
If I had a choice between Narduzzi AND Roushar leaving for other options or Narduzzi AND Roushar both staying at MSU, I'm pretty sure I would choose them both leaving. Obviously it would be ideal for Narduzzi to stay and Roushar to leave, but there's no way Roushar deserves a HC opportunity over Narduzzi.
I say this because it's been brought up before that there's a good chance our D wouldn't experience a huge drop off with Narduzzi leaving due to the defensive mind we have in Dantonio. What we do need is an effective offensive mind which I think we're lacking in Roushar.
Of course this all depends on the quality of the OC we get in place of Roushar.
You're missing the point Dantonio is a defensive coach
I get that, but Narduzzi is a big time recruiter as well and is fiery, his personality resonates with this defense. I'm sure the dropoff wouldn't be like it is with the offense, but Narduzzi is a big time coach and shouldn't be considered expendable
Butch Jones didn't go to Purdue, so I don't think Cincy is open.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
This. Nailed it.
I'm nailin it.
Bielema to Arkanasa
Addazio to Boston College
Hazell to Purdue
Malzhan to Auburn
Butch Jones to Colorado could be coming tonight.
Duzzi is going to Cincy.
yeah, after turning down Purdue Jones to Colorado is supposedly imminent: he's just trying to squeeze more money out of them. Beautiful campus and all, but I don't think that's a very good job. Butch is gonna try to get paid the MAX amount because Boulder has been a coaching grave yard for quite some time now. I must say again: Narduzzi and his solid Ohio recruiting ties would be SOLID at Cinci...really good hire and a much better job than any HC gig in the MAC. Also, as someone pointed out on the board last night, he could come back here and take over for Coach D' eventually. Could work out.....

How are you so sure Narduzzi to Cincy? Is there anything official yet?
I'm seeing tweets that Pelini is interviewing at Tennessee.
narduzzi stays on as dc and roushar moves over to OL coach/Run game coordinator...MSU shakes up their offense and hires a true offensive coordinator and replaces samuel, too...maybe even the qb coach.
that's not too far off of what very well could be happening after signing day.

Exactly. Narduzzi leaves for Cincy. Coaches there for 4-5 years, then Dantonio retires and Narduzzi takes over MSU. That would be ideal.
dude....that would be SO similar to Bielema going to Arky....NO recruiting ties or inroads to that area: midwest guy with absolutely NO fucking clue about that conference or fan base.
On one hand I hope it happens to see Pelini fall on his face, however in the end I hope he stays at UNL because he's pretty average.
Pelini is a former SEC D coordinator and has a National championship ring from LSU.....
Slow your roll man. You're practically tripping over yourself with excitement about Narduzzi leaving.
He can do better than Cincy.
"We'll play anyone, anyplace, anytime!" - Tom Izzo
No coordinator can do better than Cincy as their first head coaching job unless they have extreme success as a coordinator like Pelini had at LSU winning a title.
Alright, gonna warn ya once. No more Narduzzi to Cincy threads without some evidence. This is under the "repetitive posts will be deleted" guideline.
I think he might need a timeout.
