Obviously the direct quotes of your long post that I didn't finish reading weren't the parts that were possible for you to sugar coat. Maybe the paraphrased "that they're going to have to grow up and get over" which he never said a thing about?
He says they won't, and implies that they shouldn't have to. "It's just not realistic for Mike Florio or any progressive or liberal to think that everything is going to be OK in the locker room, and we should all just wise up and accept it."
Key words "we should" not "they will."
By only directly quoting the part that everybody is agreeable to, while gently paraphrasing the rest, you're sugar coating.
EDIT: And yes, the Freep is ridiculous in their reporting of it. That omission of the could care less is pretty blatant. Plus the picture and unnecessary slam at the end. It's nowhere near as bad as TH Sr's comments.

I like the fact that he was stating an observation of his years in an NFL locker room. He didn't state his beliefs in the article per se. The free press article is another piece of shoddy journalism, only using Miller's quotes that serve their needs, and not the entirety of what he said.
I love that when there's an article on this subject, all of the "Holier than thou" people make an appearance.
Big difference if it is a Kobe, LBJ, or Durant that is gay.
First off, if my post was too long for you to finish reading before commenting on it, perhaps you shouldn't comment on it at all, or at least not with nearly as long a post of its own.
Second, I didn't paraphrase, I inferred, specifically from his statement, “I could care less. You can play football or you can’t." that he thought the players should get over it.
Third, zeroing in on what is more likely a poor choice of words than a statement of opposition to homosexuals in the locker room in a much longer statement ("we should" vs. "they will"), you're basically doing the same thing as the freep.
Fourth, I'm glad we agree that the freep ain't shit.
This is silly.
He is not stating an opinion just an observation of what likely could happen and why NFL teams might be concerned about an athletes orientation.
Also, per the headline Miller is "criticized". One guy. OK that's worth a story? I'll get "criticized" for this post.
Did Florio even mention Miller in his column?
Stupid. Its just a hack reporter taking a shot at MSU. I hope Izzo, Dantonio, and Hollis make an issue over this type of reporting.
Jim played 10 years in the NFL but only noted as getting cut by the Lions. So many things wrong with that article.
Who knows, maybe something is coming out on the other side about a former UM quarterback and they are laying the groundwork.
If Jim was getting a major award he would be a "Waterford native"........with no mention of his MSU affiliation.
A FORMER UM QUARTERBACK IS GAY????
"Hey!! Gimme one of those hats!"
FORMER UM QUARTERBACK CAUGHT WITH 5 DEAD GAY HOOKERS!
ANYWAYS, he makes a good point.
