Their style of play is atrocious. But it did beat Indiana and we wouldnt have any shot at the conference title otherwise
It may not be as exciting as watching the snow fall, but at least it's warm inside!
Eh, goes both ways. We shit the bed in the second half against Minnesota, tOSU, umAA and the last 2 minutes against IU. Without that, Indiana has no shot at the title.
Or, umAA doesn't brainfart against PSU and they are playing for sole possession of 1st.
Just like some forget what Wisky was like pre-Barry. Not my brand of bball!

Not to mention, they have played twenty more minutes in B10 play (four overtime sessions). Removing the overtime scoring, Wisconsin is only averaging 59.3 points per regulation game--a full 8 points fewer than MSU. And if you remove MSU's games against Wisconsin, MSU is averaging 69.1 points per regulation game--almost a full 10 points more than Wisconsin.

Yeah, completely gloss over Big Ten averages and look at how many points MSU and Wisconsin scored against teams like Western Michigan, Nebraska-Omaha, Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Loyola-Chicago.
You must like RPI too..
They are really, really concerned about keeping that completely meaningless streak alive. I guess you'll cling to just about anything when you have nothing of value to celebrate.
and adjusted tempo stats so they can say they run a faster tempo then MSU.
The first time MSU basketball aired in France the French surrendered to Tom Izzo just to be safe.
True, most people wouldn't like it, but would you rather have a team that never makes the dance and isn't competitive in the Big Ten or a team that people consider kind of boring, but you win a lot. Its an easy question.
It's going to be interesting to see how long it takes before any decent amount of UW fans to turn on Bo. Yea they've been competitive, but when is their last title? Yea, they've been OK in the dance, but when will they truly make some noise?
Even with a Final Four inbetween, our fanbase was a ticking time bomb during the B10 title drought.
And the Wisky fans vote every time they buy a tix.
I agree with your first point, but Bo's D3 teams played a much different style. Hell, his teams early on in his career at Wisconsin played differently. They are a perimeter oriented team that never looks to touch the post or drive to the basket. Disciplined enough to pummel bad teams but look inept against anyone that can defend.
Bo's D3 teams played a full-court press and ran like crazy.
Forget the fans, how does he recruit players with that style?
"Come to Wisconsin and you can help us pass the ball around for the first 33 seconds of every possession on our way to 50 point games. We will build you from a boy into a MAN, as you learn to fly backwards any time someone comes within 5 feet of you, and then cry about it if you're not given your way."
No wonder most of the guys that go there are a bunch of putzes.
I was thinking just about this exact thing during the game. When Harris got the steal that he took for a lay up the Wisconsin player that he touched (barely) goes flying like 10 feet and after the basket looks at the ref with this pleading face. He was absolutely floored that they didn't call a charge on Harris.
I almost wonder if this is the Indiana effect. I wonder if refs have gotten so sick of kids flopping around that they just stopped calling the majority of that shit.
No shit...what happened to being an athlete and trying to make a basketball play, you know, something radically different like trying to actually steal the ball or block/challenge the shot?
The whole charge rule needs a radical rewrite...why in hell should you reward someone for doing the least athletic thing you can do (standing there and hoping to get run into)?
Saw this photo from the last game vs. Wisky and it really didn't surprise me
Here's another thing that would drive me crazy as a Wisky fan: they are always mediocre-good. Never bad, but always short of being great. It's like their ceiling and floor is that of a crawl space.
Come on now... We're Spartan Football fans. We should respect their loyalty when it comes to that aspect.
Free Education. Jimmy Jackson doesn't have to pay tution for his boy.
Al Toon didn't have pay for his son (fball) or daughter (vball)
