If only there was a way for Notre Dame to play USC on the road and accomplish a similar feat ...
Obviously there is, but I'm looking at how things stand right now.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
And as things stand right now, the best common opponent of the three teams is Oklahoma. There's still plenty of football left to play, but OU could very well finish 10-2, with its two losses coming against two undefeated, top-3 teams. And Notre Dame crushed OU in Norman.
Meanwhile, if this conversation is still relevant in a few weeks, it means USC ended up with five losses or worse.
I'm not trying to trumpet Notre Dame here. From a pure entertainment standpoint, I want to see Oregon vs. KSU. But I don't think there's any way you can definitively say "Team A and Team B are much better than Team C" at this point. If anything, I'd lean toward Notre Dame having the best resume thus far.
Who you beat means a lot more than who you almost loss to.

I hope ND gets screwed going undefeated. Would be hilarious to see the meltdown from ND fans.
I forgot the Big12 /Big 9 aftyer losing Nebraska, Mizzou and Texas A&M is not having a championship game. However I still think the K-State schedule with Texas, OK, OK State is on par with ND's.
If ND didn't have to play USC and NBC had the Championship Game I would be very concerned.
I'm talking about after this year when that ACC "affiliation" kicks in.
I'm sick of hearing from all of you uneducated by-standers that ND should've lost to Standford on that questionable call in OT. What you all seem to forget is that, if that was called a TD, it would've forced OT #2, not result in a W for Standford. Stop repeating everything you hear and see on ESPN.
Si. I would love to see Dr. Lou's head explode. Mark can remind him of Joe's undefeated seasons w/o a NC.
