I shall blow the conch.
Now then, I am going to Rome. In October. And I know that the crowd on tRCMB has its ears, eyes, and collective dicks on various bands. I've already got a bead on Hall and Oates, so leave them out of this.
FIND ME A BADASS CONCERT.
I've been googling 'Tom Petty Tour October 2013'. Nothin. I want full fur, ROCKIN out.
I figure a lot of you are on the mailing list for some band here or there, post it here.
I will reward the winner with a VIP membership, no questions asked. Or you can have that $60 and use it for whatever you want, probably dicks.
Concert must be in Rome.
Second week of October.
Sorry for the previous lack of information.
If this is your first visit to Rome (per previous thread)....you may not be ready yet.
That City has more to see than you can do in three weeks or more... Seeing a band- any band, while there shouldn't be any point of emphasis. But. Whatever.
I know, I'm probably guilty of trying too much here. I'll happily enjoy all Rome has to offer, and will be damn happy about it.
Thanks, I appreciate the gesture. I did already look that up and general googleish. But nothing so far as far as good 'merican music.
I cannot, unfortunately, offer you any help on the music. But I will offer you, free of charge, one bit of advice that I received while in Rome but (stupidly) didn't take advantage of:
If you go to the Vatican, and want to do all those things (Sistine, St. Paul's), there is a very sneaky, easy way to get into St. Paul's Cathedral without waiting in the inevitably long line. Assuming you'll go through the museum to get to the Sistine, once in the Chapel, meander your way to the back right corner. There will be tour groups that will use a "secret" door to get directly into St. Paul's from the Chapel. When one of said groups takes off into St. Paul's hitch yourself on to the back and pretend you're a part of the tour. Instant access, without the huge wait.
I did not heed this advice, and chose to not in the (reported) 2.5 hour wait line we found when we got out of the Sistine.
And if you choose not to do all those things, completely disregard my late-night, tired-mind ramblings about one of my biggest regrets to this point in my life.
Have a great trip, either way!
Any advice is better than no advice.
You shall have your VIP status shortly.
If you were going in July, you could see Iggy and the Stooges, Springsteen, Mark Knopfler, Rammstein, or Deep Purple.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
My advice is:
When in Rome....
Photo on strike.
yup... do as the gays do.
Eat some spaghetti. Shit's pretty authentic.
I'm going to refer to every person there as "Captain Dickpants".
I'm just going to watch episodes of "Oz" over and over before I get there.
Tell me something about the Catacombs. Cause I'm going to get my bonar on.
ICP. They should have a stop in Rome, as I think "juggalo" is a popular Italian phrase.

I'm normally relatively protective about my places in the world, cause I'm all about unique experiences. But I'm about 24 beers in the can, and have decided to share it with all of you.
Google "Devil's Pool, Zambia."
Rome is just a reason to stop on the way home. That, my friends, is the shit.
Yea I watched Euro Trip too!
wait so you're going to Rome to see an american concert? Why not just find a cool cafe and see some local acts?
