These "mistakes" keep happening.
These pathetic calls keep happening.
This was the first game since Indiana we cracked 20 points.
On the 2nd to last drive that went Run, Pass, Pass, the two pass plays were both 20 yards +. How about some high % plays.
Started out calling an okay game, mixing it up with a sweep and a reverse, and then it went into weird Rousharian every pass play is 20 yards +, and odd calls with runs and passes.
I'm tired of seeing Empty backfield shotgun on 3rd and short.
I'm tired of rarely using PA Pass in situations where it would prove successful.
I'm tired of this clown.
Roushar wasn't the problem at all today.
Run pass pass from our own 10 yard line when we needed to start to kill clock.
The two pass plays were both 20 + yards.
The defense had a 10 point lead in the fourth quarter and could not hold onto it. The D hasn't been able to close out games for shit this year.
It's 2007 -all over again. The d has let this team down and blown it three times. It's only going to get worse next year with attrition of personnel. The replacement good gets aren't going to make this a winning program. By the way it was run for 7 or 8 yards. So it was 2 and two and instead of running twice to get the first and kill click we threw two incomplete passes. SOS. I've fallen back into the muddy waters apathy. Fycking Meyer has turned osu completely around with his style of coaching. They will compete for a nc soon. Probably next year. Msu back to middle or lower tier.
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
Yes he was. But he wasn't nearly as big a problem as he has been. At least there was SOME creativity and mixing of plays in there.
But, yeah. If it's a total surprise when an OC calls a decent game, he should probably not be employed.
Great fan you turned out to be anyway..
So you'll stop posting about it since you don't care about it, right?
Nice rant but for the 2nd Big Ten homegame the defense takes the field with a lead and the opponents had 80 yards for a tie or a winning TD. Both times long passes got them at least 20 yards.
I don't think Roushar is top notch but the defense needed one stop in the closing minutes AT HOME and couldn't do it.
People can vent after MSu lost yet another game in the final minutes. Remember the 5 stages of grief: denial; anger; bargaining; depression; acceptance. Matador is in bargaining mode. I quickly went from anger to acceptance. MSU football just flat out sucks again.
I really can't complain anymore after watching the LSU loss. LSU gets top five talent every year and their coach chokes away games every year. We don't sniff top five talent and yet we have two 11 win seasons and are having a bad year so we are good.
Good OC's often demand a lot of control and does anyone posting hear know how much control Mark Dantonio is willing to give his OC?
If there is a change to be made I would like to see Chuck Long. Right now he's coaching HS receivers at Norman High School (Norman OK)
Attached is a link about Colorado School of Mines HC Bob Stitt. He's an innovator. But he wants control over the offense.
After the drubbing Colorado took losing to Stanford Woody Paige of the Denver Post is suggesting Stits to CO/PAC12
GOLDEN, Colo. – The best offensive mind you've never heard of was home Jan. 4, watching football way past his 7-year old son's bedtime. The Orange Bowl kept going later and later, the outcome long since
At halftime the Buffaloes trailed Stanford 35-0. The Colorado offense had 12 yards rushing, 19 yards passing andtwo screaming first downs.
Thanks for caring enough about MSU football to post this.
Eh, we have a championship quality defense held down by a MAC offense.
Only two more games to suffer through and only one at home..
On to basketball.... Friday get here fast...
Nίκη για MSU
You've been an apologist all season, so I take what you say with a grain of salt.
6 years into a "program" and this is the offensive product we're putting on the field.
MSU has an opportunity to be very good on O next year. The players are there. The decision by MD will be very telling about the future of MSU football.
You don't think Roushar has a lot of control?
He has too much for his level of competence. I mean based on interviews and such Dantonio makes it seems like he trusts Roushar completely (for some reason). Maybe it's really a different story but from everything we are able to see to me it seems like Roushar gets a lot of freedom.
Just look at how different our playcalling is when comparing Treadwell to Roushar. If Dantonio had a lot of control there wouldn't be such a difference in playcalling.
It appears so. And I've lamented our wide receivers, our line play, our lack of playing with heart all season. I've said it's everyones fault. I'm just not dumb enough to think this years problems stem from one man or one area. Only real idiots would think that way after actually watching this product. Lucky there are plenty of those around here.
You want to hire a high school wide receivers coach to be our OC? O'rly....
Haters gonna hate!
You probably posted the same thread about Narduzzi in 2009.

Isn't this one of those situations where we SHOULDN'T wait until the end of the season to fire the OC? I would understand if we didn't fire him a few games into the season, but our season is lost at this point. Fire him and let somebody in-house get a chance. If they're incapable we can go out and get somebody in the off-season but I think this is a good chance for an interm to get a chance. Two weeks to get prepared, a few games and a month until a possible bowl game to make adjustments with what you've done.
Roushar is not the problem. Look at that, the OL FINALLY consistently blocked and our offense looked solid. Whaddya know.
The season is not lost until we know there's no bowl game. I want a new OC, but you might as well finish the year and then find a good one. At this point you want to get bowl eligible simply for the extra practice and the kids get something for the work they've put in.
I don't blame the players. They mess up, but they aren't the primary problem. If MSU were to pony up and get a first rate OC, whether a name or a rising star, he could do plenty with the kids MSU has.
Looked solid? They score 24 and they're fixed?
It's funny, during every game I've watched on TV this year the announcers at some point complement Roushar on his play calling. Same thing happened yesterday. Sometime it's multiple times.
It's just my opinion that many things are contributing to the offensive woes this year and Roushar might be one part of it, but he's not the only culprit. The play calling at times may be questionable, but to place all of the blame on Roushar is extremely myopic.
