Unless you're Gary Harris. Then you get an arm around your shoulder and a calm chat. I've watched this all season and determined that must have determined that's the way to handle him. I have yet to see yell at him all season.
I can just see the analysis of MSU next fall...... "they no longer have Derrick Nix to fill up the middle..." as if that we lost something big that they are only beginning to recognize in February of this season. It's almost as if they think Izzo will not be unable to develop new players and his past success has been coincidental. It's like they forget the key premise of college sports is to develop new talent or die and that Izzo is only getter better at what he does.
I think some people are thinking that Payne might declare. Losing Payne and Nix changes things for next year. Costello has done well as a freshman and will probably go on to a solid career here, but he's not the athlete Payne is. I know Payne might have started slower than Costello as a freshman, but his athleticism was obvious from the very start. Hopefully Payne stays, but it wouldn't shock me if he didn't.
