Its been made quite apparent that you're a UM fan. Your opinion is meaningless, of course you want to see our student athletes constantly get dragged through the mud.
EDIT: If you honestly think curious players/recruits don't ever snoop around here, you're out of your mind.

Not what I said. I'm sure they read the board, but reading the board and being emotionally impacted by what you or I say are two completely different things.
And I'm a current student at MSU, not sure where you come up with me being a Michigan fan.
Perhaps I have it confused, my bad if so...
Either way, some of this shit is over the top and I'm tired of reading it. Its true, it wasn't NEARLY as bad on the old board. For a university that has a decent football program and an elite basketball program, we sure don't show any patience or loyalty if we ever lose a game. Kinda sad really.
JP, I'm sure you played sports in high school. Keep in mind a lot of people on this board didn't. They were in the band, drama club, glee club, ETC. They weren't friends with the footballl players, and espcially not the good ones. They think these 16 year old football players have the same mentality of a 16 year old in the glee club . They don't. They're tough. Their coaches are tougher on them than any Tanfan post can ever be. That said, I don't want to see 100 threads bashing our school cause it's annoying.
EDIT: Don't include kickers in this. Don't talk bad about kickers, they aren't like other football players.

3) We can revoke your right to post on Spartantailgate.com for any reason at any time without any prior notice.
Most of the time, people know exactly why they were banned, in my experience. They are just pissed off that they got their hands slapped. No one is owed an explanation.
You guys should make a group Rod account (he doesn't have to have access to Rod tools) and all the Rods have access to it, and they can use it to PM banned posters why they got banned, and it's not obvious which Rod did it.
It would be nice if we had what the OLD BOARD did. When users were banned, you could put in why they were banned and the user saw it. We put in reasons for everyone's bannings. Posters just don't see it now. Plus it was anonymous. Infractions weren't anonymous, but they usually didn't result in bans either.
Fair. To belabor my point, I wasn't advocating bashing recruits or players. I don't have much of a problem with it but I understand why people do.
My overall point was just as you stated: they don't care what some internet boner posts about them, and it's fairly narcissistic to think they do.
It's extremely naive to think that they don't care. It's also delusional to assume because you're shticking it up on here that other people are in on the joke.
JP is not a schtick.
You're a good man Rocket.
Are you really this naive?
Brian Hoyer's Dad came close to having a physical altercation with a poster on this board because of his incessant personal and nasty attacks. That's just one of many examples.
Recruits and their families scout out boards during their decision making process. They want to know how fans of a school treat their players.
I'm not going to waste any more time giving examples because its not really debatable. Again, the larger question is even if none of the above were true, does that give us a free ride to personally attack fellow Spartans in a public forum???
Since no one here can give a direct example of how this message board affects the recruiting process, I feel pretty safe in saying that it doesn't.
Cool, a license to attack players, recruits and coaches!!!
Nice straw man
I find it interesting that you've chosen this thread to troll about the subject of bashing recruits on this website.
How about just not doing it, rather than arguing about why?
I hate that we have posters who refuse to believe the reality that recruits and their families read this board and it could negatively affect recruiting. It's so incredibly selfish.
I don't think I've ever bashed a recruit on here.
Then it shouldn't be a problem for you to simply accept that it isn't acceptable behavior, rather than arguing/trolling about it.
It's the principle of it.
any packed stadium has a certain percentage of tools and fools and idiots. message boards have a much higher fraction of same. iron law of message boards.
You're trolling about it.
Didn't a current MSU player post here after he committed? Do you not think he was reading the board during his recruitment?
The principle of it?

Read AA's post a little closer. You don't have to be a schtick to be schticking it up. I'm in for some mass bannings. I don't really care if people like me. Let's do this.
