Some of their fans seem level-headed, but several of them are planning to boo him. Seems dumb to me but I guess they don't like it when an Indiana Mr. Basketball plays somewhere else...
Page 1 of 3 - What kind of crowd reception for G.Harris?? - posted in Indiana Hoosiers Basketball: I know I was a little more upset than others on here that Gary Harris did not choose IU, but he is from my hometown and went to my old high school so I had that reason too. I know the last time he was in Assembly Hall was for Hoosier Hysteria and had his name chanted. Home state kid/Indiana Mr.Basketball spurns ANY Indiana school........does he get the Sean May/Luke Re...
so mattyfresh and so clean
Not much seems to bother Harris. He will probably think it's funny.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Hope he uses it as fuel and goes off on them
I didn't know that Indiana fans were as pathetic as Purdue fans.
That is good. It will only fuel his game. I predict Harris, And either Dawson or Appling( the one Olidipo isn't guarding) to lead us in scoring. As tough of an environment as that is to play in. I like our matchups vs them as long as Appling can keep Hulls in check and Nix can make Zeller work for his.
Oh. Good for them?
Our fans would never stoop so low as to boo an opposing player - just never happens in sports. I hope they bring the team Psychologist to help Gary through this.
So how do they feel about Dane Fife?
Its five o'clock somewhere.
I didn't read the entire thread, but most of the first page seems to be a rational discussion about not booing Gary Harris because he was never offered or committed to IU.
Sill, students booing an opposing player from their state during a highly ranked B10 game isn't really a crazy concept, is it?
Are they gonna chant "air ball" at players who miss the rim too?
Can somebody explain to me how IU has a class of 6 players for 2013 and only 3 seniors leaving after this season? Walk-ons?
Gary Harris plans to crap all over their faces. Literally (figuratively)
Kinda funny that they are all on their high horse about getting the best talent from Indiana when it seems this past year they missed on the two best (Gary Harris and GRIII). I'm sure Crean is kicking himself a little bit for missing on both of them.
It's pretty much assumed that Zeller is gone after this year. It's also been discussed that Maurice Creek may be giving up basketball after this season as well. The knee injury he suffered at the end of his sophomore year (and that kept him out for all of last year) has been really hard on him. He played the first 10 games of the year, but was out until their game against Penn State yesterday. He's on pace to graduate this spring and may just move on instead of coming back.
That gets them to 5 open scholarships. I guess there's always a chance that Oladipo could be convinced to turn pro early by the wrong people. They could get to 6 open roster spots.
And if the good Lord’s willin’,
I’m a keep on chillin’,
refillin’ and flyin’ high
Yeah, but it's not like they really struck out in the state of Indiana either. Ferrell was rated 19th overall by Rivals (the #2 point guard, something they really needed and overall higher than Harris who was 25th overall). Perea was 43rd overall, so he's no chump either. Hollowell was ranked 41st overall. All three are from Indiana.
GRIII was probably a big miss, but lots of people missed on him. His offer list was not that exciting and even his own coach said he never could have predicted that he'd grow into the player he is now when he started recruiting him. GRIII was a lanky wing player that really needed to develop or he was going to get pushed around in the Big Ten. The best names on his recruiting list (besides Michigan) are Xavier, Colorado, Illinois, and Butler. It's filled with schools like Valpo, IUPUI, Indiana State, Evansville, and Eastern Illinois. If anyone really missed on him, it's Purdue where his dad was a super star. When it was time to recruit players from the class of 2012, I think Crean didn't see any way that GRIII would get on the floor ahead of Oladipo or Sheehy or even Hollowell. Honestly, if GRIII was on Indiana's team, given his position, he's probably putting up similar numbers to Hollowell (11 minutes per game, 4.5 points per game). It would be hard for him to see the floor nearly as much as he has at Michigan (31 mpg, 12 ppg)
yup. Maybe he'll get pissed and have a purdue like game against them.
The first time MSU basketball aired in France the French surrendered to Tom Izzo just to be safe.
OMG! Next thing you know they are gonna cheer Zeller.
good...let them boo him. Hopefully it will motivate him and Dawson to play really well.
It's not even like IU was his next choice. His mom played for Purdue. I feel that IU wasn't even that big of an option.
You don't think they'd stoop that low, do you? I'll get Delany on the phone now. This site has proven to be a credible source in media, right?
This. Some freshmen couldn't handle it, but I hope they piss off Harris. That won't end well. Kid has killer instinct. Same goes for Dawson.
"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
Works for me!
"I love March!" - Tom Izzo
I hope they boo their heads off while he scores 30.
Indiana fans have a long way to go to match Purdue. Once they start openly rooting for a Harris injury they'll be in the ballpark.
Your a retard.
IU fans think they have a right to every player from the state. Any who leaves is a traitor.
And frankly, in the power they were right. Bobby took who he wanted and left the scraps for everyone else.
