While I would like us to be a #1 or #2 seed in the tourney, we could also easily be a #3.
So, we would play a #14. That could be somebody like Iowa State. We would then play a possible #6. That could be Notre Dame.
That would be fun to knock out Korie and follow it up with bouncing out Sherman. More fun to beat Notre Dame anyways since they won't schedule us even though we play them in everything else.
Seems like the tourney committee likes to schedule early match ups that have storylines. Isn't Hollis on the committee this year too?
Could be interesting. What do you guys think?
No way a school from a major conference is a 14 seed. Iowa St is a 9 through 12 if they get in.
Brady Hoke is fat.
At large teams from " BCS" conferences don't get 14 seeds
That would be a conference champion from a shitty conference
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Historically, that is true. But, lots more credit being given to mid majors last few years. Gonzaga is staring down a #1 seed and is ranked #2 in the country as one example.
and in none of the last few years has a major conference team been a #14, why would this year be different.
gonzaga's seed has nothing to do with the last few at large seeds.
also the new play in games create less of a chance for the last 4 in (major conference teams) to be ranked lower than an 11 or 12.
Last year, BYU was a #14 seed. They won a play in game against Iona. They are from a BCS conference. Ironically, they are from Gonzaga's conference.
The committee could again choose to have the 14 spot be a play in game again and make a name team from a name conference play in that game. It's possible.
Gonzaga's was used as an example of a team that used to get a lousy seed as a mid major now getting a very high seed. They have earned the benefit of the doubt at this point. I think more mid majors will take more traditional conference seeds this year.
Neither Gonzaga or BYU play in a BCS conference.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
First of all, BYU had to drop down to avoid playing on Sunday. Second, NEVER ask for a certain opponent in the tournament. It would be such bad karma if we actually did play ISU or ND now.
My mistake there. BYU is in a conference in basketball, but I think they are independent now in football. Still eligible as a non automatic qualifier to play in a bcs bowl I think.
This thread is painful.
Do NOT want to play Korie. Kid has a tendency to light it up in big games, and he will be highly motivated against his former team. Could care less about ND, we would stomp them.
Also, watching this game makes me wonder how good our team would have been last year + a senior Lucious and senior Delvon Roe...holy crap we already we're a 1 seed and B1G champs
This thread is so fucking laughably bad. My favorite part was when the OP was convinced that BYU was from a power conference. No, no, no - it's when the OP thought Zaga being a #1 seed would push a power 6 team to a 14 seed.
Bravo. Bravo. This thread is the epitome of fail.
