Well Taylor is only so big...you can't expect us all to move down river.
That's the dumbest thing I have read in quite some time. There is no way that's not Tanfan.
I wish you inbred trolls would stop mucking up my perfectly good speculation thread with all of your nonsense. Fact is that you mouthbreathers dont KNOW that your school is above board any more than I KNOW your school is cheating (which I never claimed btw). Furthermore, just like UK basketball, not one of you would give a damn if it was going on so long as you dont get caught. Now go away before you get another thread locked. #fab 5

of course not...Michigan and tO$U have two of the largest white trash fan bases in America...you guys give the $EC a run for its money in trailer park super fans. Only Notre Dame can probably beat you outside the south.
I love the white trash down river rats lurk out board for a chance to argue with us. They also wonder why everyone wants to see that university sink into hell. Take your September heismans and recruiting titles and shove them up your ass.
To die in ann arbor is redundant

Your defense will be about as solid as Jake Ryan's ACL.
When people ask how I couldn't root for Michigan in the title game or bowl games, I just shake my head.
Michigan has also reportedly jumped ahead for the number 2 player for 2014, CB Jabril Peppers.
We all laughed when Michigan hired Brady Hoke. May have been the best possible fit. He buys into that all "This is Michigan" stuff just as much as your average fan. Makes it that much easier to sell. Hard to imagine Les Miles going about it the same way.
I'm not drawing any conclusions as to where MSU is headed. I think we'll be fine, but it can't be denied that Hoke and co. have been doing a great job of selling their program. Hoke's thinking is that Michigan is the best football program around, facts be damned. And he's confident in that, and it's seemingly rubbed off on recruits.
1. This is for those pathetic trolls on this thread. You might as well just admit that you're not smart enough to debate the topic at hand or at least the topic you turned it into. If you were smart enough you'd quit ignoring the REASON why MSU fans make fun of your bandwagon fanbase. We don't care who they root for, but what gives a person who has never gone to a decent school the right to rip a school like MSU who by most accounts is a quality top 100 academic institution with many highly ranked programs? Are we not allowed to make fun of a trashy hypocritical fanbase who doesn't see the irony of a bunch of people who rip a schools academics when many of them most likely couldn't even get into a BT school? MSU fans have EVERY right the make fun of this hypocrisy. Shame on you if you don't understand that.
2. Back to the OP's topic... Yes UofM cheats and so does just about every major college program. I don't believe for a second that most major college programs are clean. I gotta give UofM props for one thing though NOBODY spins goodness into greatness like UofM coaches, fans and media. They are a very good program without a doubt but for a school that recruits so well the results are so average. One national title in SIXTY years... If they are cheating... They need to become better at it.
Actually, in MSU's case, a vast majority of its fans have a direct affiliation with the school. Either they themselves went there, their parents went there, their kids went there, or another close relative went there.
Go ask a lot of the MSU fans you know, why they're fans of MSU. I'm sure you'll get that answer from many of them. If you ask that same question to a majority of UM fans, you'll get the classic..."They have a good football team."

Still doesn't change the fact that college football would be nothing without non-alum fans. Non-alum fans are often more passionate than students at the school. I've come across more than a few MSU students who are pretty indifferent towards football and/or basketball.
I can see why you guys get annoyed with the non-alum Michigan fans though.
This is so true. I worked with two nutjob scUM fans who were always ripping MSU. I asked them when they attended scUM. Both replied they never went to scUM. I asked them why they supported scUM and both said because scUM had a winning tradition. I then asked them what would happen if scUM started having losing seasons and BOTH said they would find another school to support. That shows the depth of loyalty of every scUM fan.
The butthurt is strong in this thread.
Love the broad generalizations. Please stop.[tin foil hat]
Good post by Hatter above but otherwise the douchbaggery is strong in this thread because of all the scum trolls.
Spartans should read 'Arrogance and Scheming in the Big Ten' if you want to understand how ingrained cheating, lying, and stealing is in the scum 'culture'. It's all been there since the beginning. The basket ball program has been dirty as hell since the late 70's and there have been constant rumors that it spilled over into football but that they have been successful in keeping it out of the public record. As for their 'vaunted' academics.... people only believe that because they always brag about it.
Let's revisit a little history here? Starting in the 50's, both scum and tO$U were having some 'dry' times with football and getting beat by that 'upstart' in East Lansing. About the time Bo showed up in aa, he and Woody got together and talked about how pissed they were at getting beat by MSU. Back then, the Big Hole was seldom sold out for games. They decided to 'emphasize' the game between them and also to try to cut out MSU's ties to recruits. They 'over-signed' (they could sign as many kids as they could back then) kids and never played them just to keep them from MSU. Well, Duffy lost his good coaches, finally retired, and MSU had idiots as presidents and we tanked as a national football power. scum benefited and bragged about it. Today, Coach D is restoring normalcy...
Nίκη για MSU
The real question is: why commit today? That offer is always there. Do the spring practice circuit, summer camps and take all your officials to the greats. Don't commit till you,ve seen it all on their dime. You only get this chance once, minus well.
What generalizations? I'm not saying as a whole that non-alums are more passionate than students/alums, just that in some cases they are. Do you know what that word means?
It's also a fact that college football wouldn't be nearly as big without non-alum fans.
Don't speak for other people. The use of 'you guys' or 'we' is pretty lame. Be specific so you don't offend EVERYONE. Do you know what that means?
Lol..if there was anything more pointless to be annoyed about. My bad dude.
Where there's smoke there's fire. Michigan has been a middle of the pack B1G team the last half decade, Hoke was a no name coach before coming to Michigan. They went 8-5 yet now they are getting comitts from top guys at peculiar times? They just beat out the 3 rumored to be biggest cheating schools (Auburn, Miami, and Ole Miss) in all of college football for a RB that's a thousand miles away from Ann Arbor who had no previous interest in Michigan. Presumably Green would have had to turn down cash from at least one of those other schools, why?
They either have the best set up for visitors in the history of college football or they are up to something. The Michigan fan can't see it because they have this, "we're Michigan" attitude, not knowing that "we're Michigan" doesn't mean shit to anyone but Michigan fans. Doesn't mean one iota more than "we're Tennessee", or "we're Auburn" to 99% of high school football players.
They do have the big hole, and Hoke is reportedly an extremely likeable guy, but it all still doesn't add up. You've got guys who grew up hating Michigan committing to them on a whim, you've got guys who are heavy leans elsewhere committing to Michigan on the spot, you've got guys only looking at schools that "pay" committing there. Where there's smoke there's fire.
So on a campus with 45,000 students you found quite a few that weren't interested in athletics? Holy shit!!! You could do the same thing on pretty much any campus of ANY college or university. And as a counter to you, I know quite a few MSU alums who did not seriously follow MSU sports while in school but follow it big time now.
And what exactly is your definition of more passionate?
As I stated a vast majority of MSU fans (probably greater than 70%) have a direct affiliation with the university. There is no way the remaining fans are more passionate.
You guys are way too sensitive to this stuff. Point is that on its own it's dumb to call out people for not going to the school that they're a fan of. When Michigan fans who don't go to Michigan start dogging MSU as an institution or start acting arrogant then it's probably warranted, but people on this board trash non-alum Michigan fans solely because they don't go there all the time. This topic comes up on here at least a few times a week.
FWIW I am a CMU student and MSU fan. Flame away.
