What the hell does being agnostic (or not) have to do with being someone who forgives (or doesn't)?

There is forgiveness and then there is forgetting. Just because you forgive someone doesn't mean that you have to forget what they did or that there is no punishment to atone for the wrong. Forgiveness simply means that you are not going to remain angry or resentful at the person for the wrong they committed against you on that occasion. It doesn't mean that you have to be stupid and allow them to do it to you again.
Give them NOTHING but take from them EVERYTHING.
