Picked up a 6er of Leinenkugel Snowdrift Porter tonight. Never had it before but I'm definitely digging it. Has a smooth aftertaste. I'm usually just a Miller Lite guy but I'm trying to expand my beer tastes. What other winter beers should I try?
That's not a lager
Something you will be able to find pretty easily and is a good Winter ale is Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale.
Too much vanilla
As far as i'm concerned that's impossible. I was drinking that at the Texas A&M bar in Chicago for their win over Bama. Not only was the game and scene awesome, that's a very good beer. Dark, but not too heavy.
On rate beer it says it's only a 56, but I thought we looked after we ordered it and it was rated higher. Perhaps I was drunk?
It's alright. I think the vanilla needs to be toned down a bit though.
On a side note...I'm brewing a batch of Northern Brewers Caribou Slobber tomorrow.
Sierra Nevada Celebration!
Breckenridge Vanilla Porter
Go Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Pioneers.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand
Drinking this right now. Got a 24 from Costco for the tailgate. Much better than Leinenkugel or Sam Adams winter mixers.
Leinenkugels is to craft beer as the Spice Girls are to music.
I have yet to drink a Leinenkugel that I have liked. I am not a beer snob (I will never turn down any beer), but I do like a wide variety of beers. Leinenkugels have always been poor IMO. Drinkable (aren't they all?), but nothing I would ever ask for.
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Anderson Valley Winter Solstice
Anyone tried Bell's Christmas Ale? Might pick up some of those to watch football tomorrow.
not a huge fan of it. Its not bad, but not great. Great Lakes Christmas Ale is pretty damn good, not sure if it is out yet.
Picked up the same brew - very tasty
That's a pretty big jump from Miller Lite to a Porter - way to step up!
Sam adams winter lager, Sams winter classics with chocolate bock, Sierrs nevada celebration, your local craft brewery's seasonal (ours is saranac ; ) Harpoon winter seasonal, Mikes hArd Cherry chocolate variety pack, Newcastle winter I.P.A, SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CRAFT BREWERIES, THEIR WINTER SEASONALS ARE USUALLY GOOD!!!!!!
you bastard. I'm craving Mirror Pond like no other, haven't had any since I left Denver in June. Haven't had their winter seasonal ever, but never had anything bad from them.
I POUND GUINNESS LIKE A BOSSS!!!! NAME ME SOME MICHIGAN MAN BEERS I I WANNA COME OUT THERE AND TRY THEM, THE SHIT THAT PUTS HAIR ON YOUR CHEST BRAH!!!!!!!!
Ross you drunk bro?
New Belgium Snow Day is a very good
Not a fan of Bocks/winter lagers. Very underwhelming. Give me a winter ale 10 out of 10 times
Gee, that's helpful.
