The terrible situational decisions have doomed us this year. The terrible timeouts are mind boggling.
Sitting here at the game it looks like this coaching staff does not give a fuck or even try. Those timeouts were embarrassing. You ice the kicker when there are still 40+ seconds and you're getting the ball back? That's what you use your last timeout on?
You're letting everyone down coach. Everyone.
Disagree. It gave us the opportunity at a field goal at the end of the half. You'd be bitching if he hadn't have left time on the clock at the end for possible points.
"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." - Mark Dantonio.
This game has been on the coaches for the most part.
This is the first time that I have actually been this pissed at Dantonio. It took a lot of time to get me to this point, and that bullshit at the end of the half was the last straw.
We were in position to score points and the kicker let the team down again. Not Dantonio's fault. I think they're doing a pretty damn good job of stopping NW offense.
Dantonios decision making is very headscratching this whole year. Made some key blunders and his team is never prepared

Every decision this year seems to blow up in his face.

Absolutely on Dantonio. This is ridiculous. This team doesn't even want to be out there. Pathetic. Anyone that says otherwise is an idiot. They had 2 weeks to prepare for this game.
How about the timeout that stopped the clock for NU at 1:11? What's the excuse for that shit? I'll hang up and listen.
I bet they defended John L and Bobby W til the end too
Dantonio got too cocky before the year started
Depending on whether you're a half glass full or empty guy.. at least there's a 2nd half to be played.
They can suck it. You can only defend the coaches for so long.
Clock waw stopped for two of the timeouts including the field goal and the one that followed the penalty where northwester looked confused as fuck still
NW was already arguably in FG position when they took possession. They were at the 40 or so.
Had Conroy made it, would you be complaining?
Ummm, did you mean squinting?
Oh and I agree with what most of the other posters in this thread: its on Dantonio. Horrible coaching and decisions most of the year.
Why use your final timeout when you need it for offense on the final drive?
Field goal kickers aren't 8 year old girls. They aren't going to piss themselves with nervousness because they have extra time to prepare to kick a field goal....which is what they are there to do, in the first place.
Just absolutely mind-boggling.
Dominating Press Conferences Since 2007
I love what Dantonio has done the last couple of years, but this year is sooo disappointing. After the first couple losses I thought things would change but they havent. Its been the same bullshit the entire year.
This game is a perfect example representing MSU football this season.
- Struggle inside the red zone- fumble, fail on 4th down
- Special teams- missed FG
Total: 17 pts. (missed opportunities)
- Call it bad luck- NW misses kick during TO only to convert on 2nd chance
OL continues to be the biggest factor of non- production
- France missing block(s)
- Burkland missing block(s)
- No push
- No sign of consistency only struggling to gain advantage in the trenches
MSU is still in the game but continues to give NW 2nd chances...
Bell and Dion Sims are playing the best that they can given the circumstances before moving on-
From a fan's perspective- it would be nice to see some hope offensively for next year. Assuming Bell & Sim's are gone it appears the expectation will be uncertain. How good will be the replacements and what can we expect from our OL next year with Jackson & Fou returning?
Agree with this. But MSU does need to close this game.
2 weeks to prepare
It's Northwestern at Spartan Stadium
Can't even blame the weather, it's perfect
There aren't any excuses to lay a turd here...
Your team is playing Iowa. Go watch them.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Who knows, but is that really a bad TO? The only thing it possibly could have done with the clock already stopped is give NW an opportunity to get composed. And you don't know if our defense was unprepared for that formation, which apparently they were, otherwise, why the TO?
The buck stops with MD, this debacle of a season is on him.
Yawn. MSU is what it is. No coach ever wins big here consistently. I'm thankful for Dantonio for the two 11-win seasons but this year is much like most seasons from the last 40 years. Not really upset; just have come to terms with accepting MSU football for what it is.
And that is why we never win consistently. People like u happily accept mediocrity
