I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
That list is terrible. I don't understand how they are determining their rankings. Seems that all they really care about is the football teams

They'd be number 1 if Roushar would have left before last season.

Really surprised Florida is not in the top 3. How the hell are South Carolina and Louisville above them?
"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
I do have to ask what has either of Brady Hoke or B_Line won in order to put them at #2? Neither of them are elite coaches. Nor are they individually better than either of MSU's coaches. I suppose that it's more a telling stat that very few schools have two good programs.
We were #1 before this last FB season.
Louisville kicked the shit out if Florida in the Sugar Bowl and made a Final 4 last year.
That list is a steaming pile of mastodon dung and is a disgrace to NCAA athletics. OSU has a clear case for #1 ( at least in the discussion) But come on, Oklahoma, Alabama, and ND being ranked that high? yeah freakin right.
That is one of the worst sports related articles ive ever fucking seen.
Athlon is garbage. Listen to xm91 during cfb season. Its amateur hour.
Wow. Still cant believe i took the time to read that.
That's fine and dandy but UF has had top 10 caliber programs in both football and basketball for a decade plus now.
Every list is stupid to everyone except for the one that they personally create. And then that list in turn is stupid to everyone else who reads it.
It's the lazy old "MSUs success is dictated by UM" meme.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
No, this list actually is pretty stupid.
That list is garbage. I'll give them OSU at #1, but have any of those other duos both won a conference championship? Hoke? No. Kruger? No. Grant? No. Brey? Hahahahaha. Fuck no.
Here's the deal: anybody want to trade our guys for any combo ahead of them?
Phauk no! This list sucks.
What have the majority of those coaches won? Wow, horrible, horrible list outside of tosu. Only UL and maybe nd have any claim to be above us, and even then, they don't.
The article states "now that Michigan is returning to full strength, dantonios job is even harder". Are people smoking crack? What happened to Michigan that they weren't at full strength this whole time? Jesus Christ I am sick of the constant garbage. I hope we fucking demolish them in SS this year.
Alabama? Sure Saban can bring em up a few notches higher, but to number 3 or whatever it was? Whens the last time their basketball team made the tournament? Grant's a solid young coach, but the list is for BOTH sports.
You know, I thought of this as well... I came up with the thought that they place a very high importance on BCS Bowl games. That is the only knock on Dantonio. Then there is the Hoke, B_Line thing... How can a coaching tandem whos entire resume at their schools includes a total of TWO NCAA tournament victories at their school (zero bowl game wins) be #2?? Unreal.

Someone on BTN made one today for the B1G. He put MSU ahead of scum. He said, " I think Mark Dantonio has done more over the course of this career than Hoke; and Tom Izzo’s resume dwarfs John Beilein’s. In fact, they aren’t even in the same zip code."
The only dual sport coaches that are even in the same zip code as Izzo are Donovan and Pitino. Matta is the next closest. Therefore, those are the only 3 schools I think have an argument for being above MSU.
This list gave me chronic diarrhea.
This list is Diarrhea. Now, how bout some chronic?
If OSU and UM have coaches who are standing upright and breathing they will be ranked number one and two, but not always in that same order. That is just the way it is in college sports. I can't argue much about OSU's ranking, but UM's is way overblown. Both of Michigan's coaches have done little until this season, and do not have a long enough record of success to justify a number 2 rank. B-line's high ranking must have been decided before Izzo took him to coaching school a few days ago.
