Take a serious look at this year's talent. I mean objectively. This was a good year, like 1998. Next year begins a 1999-esque run all over again.

This team severely overachieved. Not even Izzo could explain how.

I only wish Draymond could somehow have been here for next season.
I agree take a look at the team we had on the floor tonight and tell me who besides Green is going to play at the next level.
Maybe it's time to go get some nba caliber players?
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
This team had a ceiling. No way it Woujd have defeated Kentucky or north Carolina.
"You make sure when you come, you got a little blood in your eye, a little blood in your eye, a little fire in your belly. We there yet?"
To this day it is surprising that he wont be. I really thought he would have redshirted his first year. Just another example of how hard he worked throughout his entire career.
Might have been able to get UNC if we had Dawson and they still had their guys hurt.
Kentucky is probably going to the national title game, and I think they'll win.
He'll get drafted someday, but he needs to show he can hold his own against 6'10 guys not just 6'7 guys.
I kinda had the same thought.
We came out of nowhere this year to win the Big 10 and got to the Sweet Sixteen.
The next year a more experienced team tore through the Big 10 and made it to the Final Four (and had shot a few percent better would have knocked off Duke that year).
Green is going to be a major major loss but hopefully guys like Payne, Dawson, Appling, along with Harris, and Costello step in and fill that void.
Delvon was supposed to be one.
Dawson will be.
No one who saw Appling score 49 in the finals 3 years ago would ever believe his shot could desert him this badly.
I LOLd all week long when multiple posters said this team had more talent than the 09 team that played louisville.
Just don't understand how the same team that played tonight played that incredible game against OSU in BTT.
One difference, we tried to run against OSU every chance we could. We looked frightened to try and get in an up and down game with Louisville.
Team played very tight and scared tonight. It happens.
Pitino had a great game plan and their big man made us look over our shoulder all night.
I just don't see this. They avoided an up and down game like the plague.
Bo Ryan thought they stalled like bitches.
It wasn't coaching it was players w/o poise under pressure or making shots. It's too bad for Day Day, but they didn't have a true PG or a money 3pt shooter. Not a bad season, considering they weren't ranked to begin with. You want to blame someone, blame KLIF2 for getting the boot.

i said the same thing today at work. I thought we'd win tonight....but overall this year felt a lot like 1998 - stand on the verge of getting it ON. We will be back...oh yes, we will be back.
This is just a taste for everyone but Nix. This team will be hungry next year with a lot more talent and experience. Imagine that.
He's working on it.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Appling's mind set for the year was altered from "shooter" to "distributor" and the transition was a struggle for him. He's much better suited to be the 2 to Trice's 1. Izzo needs to make this happen for next year.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
Where does Gary Harris play, then?
Don't say 3. Dawson plays 3. Izzo told Dawson he won't play 4.
Trice and Appling will not work in same starting backcourt. Two guys under 5'11.
You wanna move Appling over the. Valentine better be running point
He's got a summer to get his mechanics back. It's more than just mental, he's been shooting line drives all season.
I really look at the next couple years, and as much as I wanted this game, I really can't get too upset. Possible lineups the next couple years?
MSU's bench will be as good as many teams starting lineups. They will be big at guard, athletic at the 3/4, experienced at C. They will still have Izzo. Yes, they overachieved this year. As long as the overachiving continues, I will be a happy Spartan.
