No, no, no. Plumlee is developing the Kareem Abdul Jabbar skyhook. It's indefensible. He'll have it down pat by Friday. The Spartans may as well save the U money and not show up.
We owe them an ass kicking.
Some of the losses against Duke are what set MSU up for "stepping stone" success.
The close loss early in 99' helped them get tough enough to win the B1G Tourney, get a #1, and get to the final four. Yeah they lost to Duke again there, but as 2QP said and I agree with, that was one of the best teams of this generation. Maggette, Brand, Battier
The close loss to Duke @ Cameron in 05' got them ready to make a run and let them know they could beat Duke if they simply played slightly better.
The 04' loss to Duke with the Silver unis... Well nothing good came out of that. I got pulled out into 'field work' the day after that and it was a really good day to have to hammer asphalt off of iron drainage structures with a 10lb hammer all day. Few days are good days for that.
Marriage is like flying with kids, if the flight had 500 connections, never ended, Ted Striker were your pilot and you ate the fish.
Typical SucksCalvinsJohnson. Walter Payton was a tool as well.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
My only concerns vs Duke are
1. Kelly or Curry going batshit from 3.
2. Dawson missing EVERYTHING again. If his range could be 5' and in instead of 1' and in we'd be kosher.
3. Over helping leading to tons of their 'famous' drive and kick (to the corner) threes.
4. Payne getting baited into foul trouble by upfakes/etc from Kelly.
I really like the Costello/Nix matchup for MSU vs Plumlee. 2 guys than can really grind on him all game.
Valentine could have a great game because they mostly have smallish wings.
Here is your typical blower response that I spoke about in my prior post. Note the overreaction coupled with the angry insult. Yet it's allowed to stay. If you respond to this post in kind you will get banned.
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
Fire Izzo lulz
This is the disturbing part of the so-called rivalry. To Dukies it probably isn't much of one. So a tremendous beatdown is warranted.
3 balls def a concern. Dook makes them with ease, while MSU has one guy Harris that you can count on from 3 pt land. Appling has to give us 12+ pts.

Speaking of...overreaction coupled with the angry insult...
Enjoy the email I sent to the jackass. Figured you asshats would enjoy the entertainment.
I listened to your voicemail from last
Izzo is 1-0 vs Duke in the Sweet 16.
While facts are facts, irrelevant facts are irrelevant. The only relevant stat in this match up is 1-1 in the tournament (and only if you find relevance in how coaches with completely different sets of players, several years apart, performed against each other). The other 5 games are November/December matchups, which, as we have seen time and time and time again says little about how an Izzo team will perform in the tournament.

Other than last years match up I don't see how any of the past matchups are really relevant.
And last years means very very little due to so many personnel changes.
No knee drops this time Mr. Nix!!!
I downvoted him because he's just a perennial douchebag.
tRCMB - Where MSU fans eat their own.
And Indiana has lost 13 straight to Wisconsin, but who's still playing?
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
That and it was the second game of the season, MSU played in San Diego in the Carrier Classic 3 days before (and all the hoopla before that), had to fly cross country to play in Madison Square Garden.
Plus the game was called like the Refs were trying to get Coach K's milestone win out of the way.
Duke's big star was Andre Dawkins...who is not with Duke this season (redshirting...reason given is grieving over the death of his sister in 2009.). Scored 26 points and had 4 steals.
MSU's bigs got called for touch fouls all night. Nix was in the Doghouse and didn't play that much, but Payne got 5 fouls for breathing on Plumlee. Only scored 2 points, but grabbed 12 boards. Plumlee had 7 points and 5 boards. Payne was still being used pretty much as a center at that point, unlike a PF/SF guy right now.
Kelly played 30 minutes of the bench and scored 14 on Green, but Green too was in foul trouble most of the night. Finished 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Dukes started Miles Plumlee on Green, but Miles was terrible. Hariston did nothing in the game.
Seth Curry had a big night.. but played to a draw with Appling. Appling 22 points, Curry 20 points. The aforementioned Dawkins destroyed Wood on the offensive end, but Wood did pretty good on his offensive end as well (15 points).
Duke always puts a ton of pressure on guards. Especially PGs. Appling will not only have to be healthy, he'll have to be ready to have guys in his face all the time. Harris is going to have to handle it too.
Also, we all know that Nix or Payne will be in foul trouble. Coach K will make sure that the refs are in his pocket.
I'd like to add a 5. (or 4A), the officiating.
I hate being "that guy" but let's face it, Duke does get preferred treatment when it comes to officiating. Esp. with the way charges are being called this tournament. I'm hoping we have more fans in attendance than Duke to help out, but Duke gets the benefit of the whistle far too often for me to think the officials will not play some factor.
BTW - who do you think will guard Curry? Harris? Curry worries me. He can hit.
They do not have the guards that they had when they pounded us.
Is Seth Curry gonna guard Gary Harris?
Bo owned - for a little while . . . then . . . it was over.
Nix's presence down low has improved, and Payne's shooting is a major mismatch for most teams.
I expect MSU to win by 3 pts or less... Nix has to be clutch down low. Limit the turnovers, and Trice HAS to be mistake-free.
So you are saying we are to lose because Trice can't go mistake free.
Yep. Well-earned, too.
I did unignore that post in order to downvote it, though. Not for "facts," as others have said, but for trolling.
Thank you, Denicos.
Andre Dawkins is redshirting this year because his sister died in 2009? What's the real story there?
Should be 2-0 (in the tournament). MSU got jobbed by the refs in 1999.
