MSU's 3 point defense is pretty good. Now that doesn't mean much if a team just is hot and hits them anyhow but giving up 3 pointers isn't a particular weakness for MSU.
Most of the time people say it's the guard play what will determine who wins but I think with Duke and MSU it will come down to the bigs. Does Payne dominate defensively and get going offensively? Does Nix force them to double and then handle the double teams well? Foul trouble for both sides?
That's their story and they're sticking to it. (I really don't know....that's all I could find).
Andre Dawkins was originally thought to be a redshirt for the Duke program this season in the sense that he'd be a traditional redshirt. Which is to say, he'd not play in games, but still be on scholarship and be committed to the program throughout the season by way of participating in practices, team activities and so forth. Turns out, no.
Ive been watching Duke since 1983. Somethings don't change, so here is how I see this game. Duke wins this game if they hit at least 9 threes. If Duke goes 6-22 or something like that...they lose. If the refs allow MSU to muscle Duke (especially the guards) Duke loses. I'm not worried about depth, its all about how the game is officiated and is Duke hitting their threes. Pretty much just like any other Duke game I have watched since 83. Generally in the tournament, Duke gets beat when 1 player goes off (a game of a lifetime type game). If MSU has one of those players on that night, Duke loses.
What was wrong with Duke during the Bill Foster era....they were pretty good?
I don't care about a bunch of nerds downvoting me. Duke has more talent at the guard position. Guards generally go off on MSU and take over games. I am going with Duke 74 MSU 68. I know a mod that feels the same way but is too chicken shit to post it.
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
Taking the Blue Devils on a Christian/Catholic holiday?? BLASPHAMY!
Tanny picking Duke? Well I never!
It is laughable to think Duke fans would think the refs "will allow MSU to muscle Duke". Duke has done more to emasculate basketball with their flopping and Coach K's bullying than any other program in history.
Oh, and you don't think Duke's guards hand check in their "tough on ball pressure"? Aaron Craft has a better chance of fouling out than Duke's three guards getting called for more than three fouls combined.

It makes him sound like he has serious emotional issues which can link to academic, disciplinary, psychological, or drug symptoms but they aren't talking about that.
Fold MSU tennis, put the money to good use and get new urinals for the bball team.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
I'm glad he redshirted I don't want him having the game of his life against us again
Gee, thanks for telling me! Can you provide us with the box scores for each of those seven contests too? Asshole......
Location: Mumbai, India
Who knows...but it's very strange.
At first he was going to participate in practice, travel with the team, i.e. be like a freshman redshirt. That's what Duke thought.
Before the season they did a complete 180 from that and he's actually staying completely away from the team. He's still on scholarship, he's still attending classes, he's still red shirting, he's still eligible, and he's still technically on the roster, he's just not participating in Basketball.
you can add "Coach K going for 900th win" to the 2011 game. no one was beating Duke that night.
Says the high school sports guy who never competed at any level above crap and who never donates.
I see that the evil Tanner has returned....
Can we get donations for an Exorcism for Tanner?

People react differently... Not only was his sister killed... She was on her way to his game

I understand reacting to grief....it's the timing of the reaction that's odd...and the fact that they are totally committed to his return next season without a question.
I have a feeling he never plays another college basketball game again.

What is our records against teams that make 10+ 3s a game? What is Duke averaging as far as made 3s per game? They're going to launch 20+ if they miss them we win if they make them we lose, other wise we match up extremely well with them. We can play D, and board better than any team in the country so if we can force them under 30% beyond the arc we will just gobble up those boards and hopefully turn it into quick points.

You want to leave that option open. May be he just sits on the bench and graduates
