3line was #1 on the Lakers' shortlist in front of Phil Jackson.
Correct. He turned down the job with the promise 23 million a year salary because he wants to stay at Michigan and make history by winning 14 straight NCAA titles won by only recruiting Indiana white kids.
This is the correct answer. I just always say "you are right we suck, Izzo is horrible, our football team is horrible and will always be etc..", and tell them not to worry about us, it usually shuts them up, I don't have the time or patience to deal with those types of idiots.
This situation bears no conversation whatsoever. Just smile, nod and walk away.
Then, after hours, calmly take a dump in his desk drawer.
People really argue about this stuff at work?
That's what I needed
so mattyfresh and so clean
UofM fans are ridiculous though. I was at the store buying some ground beef from the meat counter. Guy sees State sweatshirt and says "Did State have a bye this week?" I respond jokingly "Not going to lose this week!". Then another worker comes over with "Back to the way it's supposed to be, baby!" Me: "Uhh, OK." Him: "Winningest program in NCAA History says it all, man!" and yes. This is a true story. This is not one of MGoBlog's fictional tales about UofM grandmas being raped in East Lansing while everyone laughed and drank baby blood. I just don't have any idea why some people think that it's OK to try to alienate your customers. Service workers giving me shit for wearing MSU gear happens waaaaaaaay too much.
You work with DetroitBry ? That must be fun.
I have had only one ummie ever say a similar thing. I could only reply that based on that logic Bo Schembechler was more of a failure because he never won a single National Championship. The ummie never brought it up again.
You should make him an offer: between now and the end of the day, you'll each make a list of your coach's accomplishments - championships, Final Fours, big wins, recruiting success, players sent to the NBA, etc. Each listed accomplishment must be provably true. You agree to give your lists to an objective third party at COB without including your names or the names of the coaches. After he accepts the deal and you later see him concentrating really hard on Beilein's accomplishments, sneak up and stab him in the throat with a nail file.
Simple as this. I don't converse with Walmart Wolverines. No need to speak to someone who isn't a part of the rivalry.

This is a simple, "how heavy does my meat feel? Yea it's a lot of meat. Have a nice day packing meat."
Had my spartan hoodie on while going grocery shopping today, and some scum fan had the nerve to tap me on the shoulder while waiting in line to check out to say "Go Blue" with the most get me up the ass smile......
ummm wtf? Get back in line you dipshit.
I'm curious to know if any of you guys have ever done this to a scum sob? Go out of your way and say "Go Green" or "Go Spartans" when you see them wearing scum apparel.
“We’ll play anybody, anyplace, anytime. It doesn’t matter, morning, noon or night, and it doesn’t matter who it is.” - Tom Izzo
I have no idea why things like this literally never happen to me. Maybe its that thing I like to call my crazy eye.
Terrible... just terrible.... Most U of M grads know better
Either punch him in the face or ask him what year he graduated UMAA. Either will shut him up. The latter has no legal exposure. Go that way.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Doesn't develop players? Draymond Green graduated just last year, not 8 years ago. Most recent and very obvious example. What an idiot. Should have punched him in his cunt.
Posting member of tRCMB since 1997.
It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Ask him what his RCMB "name" is so you can find all of his whiny, bitchy posts in the UConn threads.
"Leave the gun.....take the cannoli"
"It's not your job to be as confused as Nigel."
Izzo could have a lot more wins if he didn't subscribe to the "any time, anywhere" approach of scheduling. Plus he is willing to make decisions that clearly cost him wins like kicking Chris Allen and Korie Lucious off a team that could have had a chance to go far in the NCAAs. I could find it reasonable for someone to criticize him for makings things more challenging than they have to be.
But a bad coach? No way. He is one of the best of all-time and the greatest thing to happen to MSU hoops. He's become bigger than Magic Johnson at MSU, which is something I didn't think could even happen.
1. Print out the boxscore for that game.
2. Turn up speakers so the whole office can hear the "speech".
3. Play the speech.
4. Roll on floor laughing with other coworkers.
5. Profit (of course)
On the board for less than 30 min and already spewing shit. STFU.
Fuck off, Nucky.
I'm guessing he was just Trolling you and doesn't really think that. Even the biggest State haters know Izzo's one of the greatest coaches in College Basketball.
Don't waste your time with people like that. Smile and move on. Too many people like that in life to let them bother you. Don't let em wreck your day.
