Whoops. Sorry for double.
I was in Colorado many years ago walking down the sidewalk wearing some MSU gear when this old homeless looking guy in a UM coat walks past. A few seconds later, I hear him shout "State Sucks!"
Are you sure it wasn't Ted Kaczynski?

Can't win at multiple programs? Izzo hasn't had to do that because his job has never been in jeopardy.....Sounds like your coworker likes to ride bikes with no seats.
"That's what we try to do is 60 minutes of unneccessary roughness"
I don't know how I missed that before, but that video is incredible.
That has to be the least motivating pre-game speech of all time.
"Here's my no-title-having Sweet 16 participation ring that I got because a gumpy white dude hit banked threes from halfcourt for one weekend 10 years ago. If you want one of these, you have have to play a road game today against your rival that will have very little bearing on whether or not you, too, can get hot for a weekend and make one of those Sweet 16s. Now go get 'em!"
OK. Sorry for the (partial) thread hijhack, but I just don't get it. How does a no-accomplishment coach like Belein recruit guys like Hardaway, Burke, McGary and Robinson? Is something shady near the grave of Uncle Ed or what? Robinson's dad was Big Dog at Purdue, right? How does the son of a legend end up at a rivals school?
Because GRIII had offers from Valpo and Colorado State when he committed to UM. Burke was at one point going to Penn State before re-opening his recruitment. Hardaway had offers from Miami, FIU and a few other tomato cans. Gotta give JB credit here, but I don't think anyone thought these guys were going to turn out like they did.
Only recruit they went up against some big boys for is McGary. If Mitch didn't have rocks for brains he would be a junior in college right now and wasn't even named all conference last year. Jury is still out on that one....
So GRIII didn't have any offer from Purdon't? I guess their coach is a stupid as I thought he was. You'd think a legacy would get an offer.....

He didn't recruit hardaway, he was handed him by his asst coaches through a Miami source. Hardaway was playing point on a crap team with a bad coach, was out-of-position and not getting much pub. Thing is, he played summer ball on his dad's pro-am team, played against college and pro players a lot, one being very tight friends with beeline's asst coaches. He shopped -not for money- hardaway to them, told them hardaway was a legit b10 talent caught in a shitty situation. They came down, bought it and offered. One of those extremely lucky cases, all about the coaches and connections, not the school.
When he committed, he was outside the Top 100 players and lightly recruited. Kid blew up. needless to say that if he had held out longer, he probably would have been a huge national recruit going to Kentucky or Florida. Instead, Michigan gets him for a year or two.
Beilein has done a great job developing players like Matt Vogrich, Blake McLimans, and Jordan Morgan.
I call BS. No Wolverine fan or any other fan would ever say something so ignorant about Izzo unless they weren't a fan of college basketball and had no idea what they're talking about. If that's the case then the only advice I can give you is stop talking to these people. You can't educate everyone. Especially those who don't want the free lesson. Izzo is easily one of the top 3 coaches in basketball right now, if not the best. It's scary to think how many natty's that man would have if he coached at N. Carolina or Kentucky. Every Wolverine fan I know respects Tom even if some may not like him. I think your just trying to tick your fellow fans off to get a reaction.
Ha. I just noticed this thread.
I had a scUM coworker tell me the same thing before the season started. He cited that Izzo took MSU to the NIT his first 2 seasons. Said Bielein was a better coach and cited his OVERALL record (not his D1 record). Said that he had more wins overall.
I just laughed at him and said "you can't be fucking serious or you're delusional. How many NC's has Beilein won?" He pretty much shut up.
Exactly. All of these guys were lightly recruited at the time that they committed sans McGary. Not that it means anything now of course but that was the case. UM was their only legit offer.
Much like Le'Veon, they got players that are much better than what they thought they were getting at the time of their verbal.
You call BS? Really? Have you ever been on the other side of the fence? It has been especially bad over the last couple seasons. I've known a Michigan Basketball fan who has been a fan through the shit-stain years. Now, I know several Michigan Basketball fans. They'll claim they've been fans all along but just didn't talk about it much because there was nothing to talk about.....whatever. Anyways, the average Michigan Basketball bandwagoneer will tell you how overrated Izzo is and they will claim that Beilein has overtaken Izzo in recruiting.

Definitely wasnt bs... For those who were wondering i did show him John Beilein's sweet 16 ring video... And just lmao. I will no longer be responding to such a dumbass
so mattyfresh and so clean
That's unfortunate. Until Beilein makes 7 final fours and wins a natty you'll never hear that out of me. Anyone who tries to make that argument is either a moron or is just trying to get under your skin. I can't apologize for everyone who's basketball illiterate.
Get an Ohio Bobcats jersey and give it to him and tell him to STFU!!
If you agree with him, you'll both be wrong.
Like I've been saying, "oh, basketball doesn't matter"- umAA fan pre-2008. Unreal how stupid they are.
I hate umAA basketball more than football for that exact reason.
Quone, to quone something. Like a patient gets difficult you quone them.
I think Ted was already in prison by that point otherwise that would have been a cool story bro.

This reminds me of when a UNC fan (who also happens to root for ND in football) told me that Izzo is overrated. I just laughed.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
Wooooooo! That vid got me so pumped! Beat Ohio!! Oh...wait...
