Didn't see anything posted yet. Heard he was at a CMU practice at the beginning of the spring, but I didn't want to post it here to speculate. Would be a good landing spot for him I'm sure.
Pity, but I'm sure he'd rather play somewhere else than be shuffled off MSU's team with a degree and a handshake.
Thank you, Denicos.
from what I've been told Gainer is a great guy. cmu would be a good spot for him to play for a year for Enos.
I didn't realize how well he ranked coming out of high school. Hopefully he gets a good year in somewhere. Being from Saginaw, CMU would seem like a perfect landing spot.
Enos has that program on the track to success.
New faces in new places.... Good luck to him!
Good luck Jeremy.
A victim of our LB depth through the years. Seemed like a good dude, good luck to him.
He's from Saginaw ? Gainer went to Livonia Clarenceville HS ?
He may have mixed up Gainer and Gardner.
If I recall, Gainer had committed to IU and he decommitted and decided on MSU (ha ha - forks down, bitches!). Maybe this is one of those cases where, hindsight being 20/20, the kid would have been better off staying at the lower-tiered B1G school.
Good luck to him. If he lands at CMU, I hope he does some damage in the MAC.

Lol Gardner's not from Saginaw either
Not sure where I got Saginaw. Whoops.
Good luck to him. The kid was a 4 star, which is a testament to how deep our LB corps is.
Or how bad Rivals ranked the 2009 class in MI. Here are the in-state 4-stars that year that chose MSU:
Of those, I'd say only Baker lived up to his 4-star billing, but not his "top 60 player nationally" hype. Gainer and Spencer transferred. Sims was injured too much to have a 4-star career; same with Caper. Norman was solid, but not a "jump off the screen at you"-type that you'd expect a high 4-star (top 110 players nationally, #9OLB) to be. Treadwell's been a solid starter, but not what you call an impact player. Maxwell, is, well, Maxwell.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Not trying to be a dick ... just confused. How could he be one of the top 110 players in the country and the #90 LB?
"Look at this. An entire generation of Cinderellas, and there's no glass slipper coming." -- Mother in ALMOST FAMOUS
#9 OLB = #9 Outside Linebacker. 0 and O's looks similar, sorry 'bout the confusion.
Damn, beat by Rocky!

I figured he was gone when he wasn't on the 2013 poster with the other seniors. Good luck to him.
One counterpoint though:
Baker, Caper, Treadwell, Norman, Sims all contributed as freshmen if I recall correctly (true freshmen I think, all of them?)
If you interpret 4* as being "ready to play D-1 college football" then they lived up to their billing -- they just didn't grow from there. And that's kind of the problem with ratings -- some kids develop early and some develop later and there's no good way of knowing which is which and who has more room to improve. In terms of where they were when they came on campus, these guys were all pretty good right away.
Dan Enos was Jeremy's main recruiter in HS.
Bingo. Nothing wrong with a player who sees himself buried in a depth chart looking up his former recruiter who is now an HC. Already had a relationship with the coach. In this case CMU has sent players to the NFL in the recent past and look to have first rounder in this year's draft.
It happens and I hope he has some nice seasons as a starter at CMU if things pan out.
Exactly FC. Wish him well.
Jeremy really is a nice guy and a hardworking student, I tutored him for a semester. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up
NEVER heard a negative word about this kid.....wish him nothing but the best. Hope he gets great PT and has alot of success in Mt. P.....
