I thought you couldn't run into conference opponents until the elite 8. That bracket has us potentially playing Northwestern in the sweet 16...
Wow, everyone keeps saying it, but there is a big gap between 3s and 4s this year. Do not want UNC on our side of the bracket.
The west may be the real prize regional of this bracket...No having to compete for fan volume with Kansas/Mizzou in St. Louis.
Can't run into them until sweet 16 if at all possible. Last year the big east iirc had two face off in the 2bd round.
The Big East should be grateful for that. Only reason those teams didn't go 0-4 in the 2nd rd.

Yep. Might be a year where putting all the 1's & 2's in the elite 8 might at worst net you 6 of 8.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
OF COURSE Duke and NC would be playing their first games in Greensboro
I guess... At least... They've kind of earned it this year by being pretty damn legit.
Marriage is like flying with kids, if the flight had 500 connections, never ended, Ted Striker were your pilot and you ate the fish.
That's actually a pretty tough bracket.
I'll be surprised if the selection committee doesn't put Kentucky in the South, to sell out the Georgia Dome. They could still play in Nashville in their pod.
I'd love to see us in the west, b/c Phoenix is drivable for me. But if we finish as a 1 or a 2 seed, I think we're heading to the MW. The Big Ten champ isn't usually displaced.

Proximity to home doesn't always equal success in the Elite 8.
Now we are listening to this guy, when in football season he was the village idiot ?
He got clowned for putting Michigan in a BCS bowl earlier than everyone. Turns out he knows his stuff or got lucky. Maybe that's why we should listen?
Wasn't he the village idiot for having Michigan in the Sugar Bowl? What a dope!
We would take that bracket. I want to see UNC in the tournament this would be the year we beat them.
I don't know, they've still likely got a bunch of future NBA players on their roster, which usually equals success in the tournament. And they won't be tested too much in the first two rounds, so they'll be fresh and confident.
I get blasted every year for saying this, but the selection committee does try to avoid rematches, which make for ugly, slow games. It's part of Izzo's scheduling genius, I doubt we'll see UNC or dook until the FF.
Both teams are a lot different since that opener. We have gotten way better, and since the injury to Strickland they havent been as good. Before Dawson slipped we were looked better than them the first time around.
FWIW, Palm goes on how he thinks it will end up, not "if the season ended today", which is kind of stupid IMO.
In other words, there's a slant to his where Lunardi is straight analytical.

Fiesta Bowl. That guy is never right. Fuck Jerry Palm.
Kentucky is going south, Syracuse East - the other two will fight for midwest and west.
I could see Wichita State as a tough team in the Sweet 16.
You and a lot of people. I'm not buying it; they've won a lot of games, but they've also won a lot of close games against bad teams. I'd want them all day over Baylor, Georgetown, Michigan, or Marquette.
Exactly. They might be tough in the sense that they're more difficult then the average non-AQ (and the other 4's in palms bracket are miserable) I'd be thrilled to see them in our bracket as opposed to a 5 seed Florida.
I'm not a mid-major hater by any means, but if Murray State gets a 4 seed that's a big bonus for the 13 seed and 5/12 winner in that region. Here, the new ESPN mock bracket is up:
Iona is NOT a 14 seed, but if they are and matched up with a 3 seed UM, the Gaels will be moving on.

Depends which team blows harder.
