Warner should be good play caller. Lots of experience there in and around MSU's offense. And he has OC experience for a few years a UCONN and Houston.
Bollman is proven taskmaster and QC manager. Plus some experienced eyes for the OL.
Salem was a QB in college and should move into that role well.
And Narduzzi gets some padding on his resume, plus he won't have to carry Gill on the recruiting trail. He should be happy.
Warner and Salem should be happy and in positions to succeed.
Looks good at least on paper.
My Whiskey Blog
Why I am excited.... Nardawg is in a higher position and getting credit he deserves hopefully setting him up to take over dantonios spot.
Shake up on the offensive side. We wanted change and we got it.
Utilizing Bollman and using teamwork mentality towards a better offensive production.
Iam concerned because we didn't go out and find someone with an open pocket book.
Also there is not a defined leader on offense which I think we need. Even though there is a team working on it one determined leader would be great.
To die in ann arbor is redundant
Is this a plan for Dantonio to eventually make Warner the full OC?
Perhaps he's bringing in Bollman, who is getting older, to guide Warner on OC duties. So in a couple years Bollman will be gone and Warner can step into the role full time...
New co-offensive coordinator Dave Warner on MSU offense: "It's time to make some tweaks and adjustments."
I think this area may be where we see the biggest influence from Bollman. I am hoping that Bollman's skill as a game-planner allows us to be more prepared for each opponent, and begin to be able to run multiple plays out of similar formations to confuse the opponent. Also hoping that Warner is a more competent playcaller, which ends up allowing the team to find more of a flow or groove on offense. Our O last year just seemed like it was all or nothing, zero flow or rhythm to the offense.
how do you know how much we spent?
have you seen the contract?
if we are paying him $800k, would that change your mind?
We've got depth. We've got numbers.
Interesting to think about without knowing numbers. We now have two OCs. If MSU wanted to go cheap, could have just promoted one and got another position coach for cheap. MSU may have deserved that reputation before, but not now.
"We might simplify some things, yet become more diversified as an offense," said Dantonio. "Throughout the spring, things will be added and subtracted from the offense. Changes aren't being made for the sake of change; changes are being made with a purpose. With that mindset, we can create different opportunities for our playmakers."
Can i get a what! what!
Eliminate a 5-wide set on 3rd & Short that everyone knows is going to be a slant? More plays out of similar formations? Me likey
This is just the news I needed after that stupid loss yesterday
Funny, that sounds exactly like how Nardawg describes his defense: simple with many facets.

Dantonio said he hopes Narduzzi becomes MSU's Head Coach someday.
So much win coming for MSU next season!.
Funny thing is, that was a great formation the year before with BJ being at times unstoppable on that route and KMart going in motion often ended up with major mismatch off the line on it too. And this highlights the problem with Roushar- great concept, but just f'ed it up. BJ & KMart are gone, Fowler could become that kind os big-body WR, but until then, maybe you should try to get you 246-pound TB involved.
I also think next year we will simply look better by default, I guarantee WR, OL and QB are all improved. TE could be a wash, as our talent will be down but depth will be up, and RB is an open book.
So Narduzzi is our Bud Foster?
Our Jimbo Fischer.
And I do love Dantonio publicly acknowledging the other schools courting him, and saying openly how important Nardawg is to MSU.
Love this. They sound fired up and ready to get spring ball rolling! I just put a hole in the section of wall that I just patched up - Bollman isn't a sexy hire, but his experience is going to help build our offense!
With Bollman on staff, does anyone have a quick run down of NFL experience, either as a player or coach, for our staff? Other teams really push that for recruiting. Bollman recruiting TE's should be an easy sell, or easier sell, right?
No. After all the whining about MSU being tight fisted why should anyone disagree.
So at OC its:
Don't post poop!
Did Warner coach under Randy Edsall? I liked his offenses.
No. They laid it out there pretty specific. For continuity, Warner will be head because he's been here. He will have all game time play-calling duties. Bollman will do game planning with Warner and work on the TE/O line. I don't get what is so confusing, we are not the first, nor will we be the last, team to go the Co-Coordinator route. We are allowing Warner to grow with the insight and vast experience of Bollman. I think it's a pretty great deal for us to have, I am happy with how it worked out.
Meltdowns are going to be so confusing now. People will just be running around all willy nilly with no idea who to want fired and who to blame.
I was kind of parodying the tendency of Coach D to leave us guessing regarding who will get the start early in the season. When the depth charts come out there's always a few this player OR that player listings at starter. The board tends to freak out about this if it's at a position like... say... quarterback.
I like the move too.
